Just letting you know- and I REALY hate being "that" guy, but as an italian I must- it's pronounced "Pahn-CHET-A", with a "ch" and not a "s" sound. Sorry, had to get it off my chest.

@BjornGunn i think spaghetti is the traditional pasta used for carbonara, but use whatever ya want at home. i like to use linguine
