The cat and the ground hog were probably used to seeing each other. As long as the cat knew the ground hog wasn't going to do anything aggressive in the cats 'territory' all was okay.

I normally try to keep a camera loaded and am lucky because of having wildlife nearby. Just buy cassettes at the grocery store.
