Our justice system which favors the rich, famous, and connected is partially to blame here.

No, Ive been to poor white areas, & there wasnt nearly as much crime. It was very safe, & everyone lived in run down houses/apartments. I was able to go outside freely. I cant in the black areas. I have to watch every car pass by to make sure its not drive-by shooters, because we get that a lot. I NEVER had to do that in the white neighborhoods that were just as poor. If I went to a poor white area with "a lot of crime", then it wasn't a white area.

Honestly, in the scheme of things, the US justice system (in general) does let people do less time than they're given.
A lot of offenders get leniency, rich or poor. Of course this is magnified in rich person's (Lindsay's) case, and that's why its particularly annoying, but it is in the context of the system it's fairly commonplace.
