a front seam means its ww2 dated helmet. Its basically a little divit in which the rim of the helmet meets at which is in the front for ww2 helmets. Post war has a seam in the back. Which is rear seam. Some say some rear seams were being made during late 1944 but thats bull shit. Helmet sellers always say that so u can by there helmet. Its extremely rare to have a ww2 dated rear seamed helmet.

dont worry about that if ur makin or movie or reenacting. Its hard to tell u only can see if u look up close. In saving private ryan they used rear seamed helmets with danish liners.

yes there were quite a few rear seam ww2 dated helmets mainly with the s heat treated mark in the front

Cool. The British helmet, It's a MK.III "Turtle" helmet. They were first seen in late 1945 but rarely used in WWII. After the war Israreal used some of Great Britians helmets as well as other countries. The "Turtle helmet" was issued in the 1950's, 60's, 70's and even the 1980's. The newer ones from the 80's and 70's were issued with a "soft" foam liner. older ones from 50's and 60's are a upraded version of the WWII liner.

The rear seam helmet started being issued November 1944, so quite a few have very well may have been in combat. Nice gear.
