You can repair by yourself, u have to take the keyboard out and cut the flex in the tip and them Carefully remove the coating as 5 millimeters or 4 the same as the plastic strap, the tip comes with a plastic strap, place it along with the tip in the groove and that´s it. my presario f500 had that fault and thats was i did.
honestly you have laptops companies that put more money into aestethic design and you have companies that only care about the "guts" or the inside. Personally I dont care about looks and design what matters most with anything is how it runs.
and that key board flex has no real performance hinders either matter of fact it looked like he was putting quite a bit of force down on the keyboard and well in which case its a good thing so i doesn't break..
if it don't use thin plastic, then how could the laptop get so thin and light nowaday, as long as they don't break is ok. also, do you expect them to make it with thick aluminum plate? then your computer might be as much as 10-20 LBs. haha. J/K
@mickyd110011 This laptop is an extreme case and is known for it's great amount of flex. Most laptops are not like this and have very little to no flex.
i have the same situation in the left corner of keyboard on acer 5315 , but I seen the same on new laptop in the store , maybe this is the visit card of acer laptops
@ppppccs erm i am rich.

doesnt seem that bad, when your typing fast and yoru fingers are flying it wont have as much of an impact as pressing down on one key like that.

aluminum is very lightweight metal and thats exactly how they did this in Thinkpad laptops. They did until recently
lukaszsw 3 years ago
it's still aluminum. you meant to say that there hasn't been keyboard flex..."until recently".

@sdutango if not, use hammer
