I love the Purple used to end a song in concert! They used to drag it out for so long and make a whole production of it. I mean it's only the end of a song and they play it for like 3 minutes! It's hilarious!
He is simply the best guitarist in rock. Page is a producer, songwriter, showman, arenger; and a man who also can play pretty well. Bit if we only are talking about a creative guitarplayer that people will talk about for the day and years to come; its only the man in black that to pick; he is history, today and tomorrow
No one can say who the greatest rock guitarist of all time is, but Blackmore is arguably in the top 5 and he and Page were the best showmen I've seen in their prime. Personnally, for me, because of his body of work, it's Clapton.
Ritchie Blackmore is a true guitar genius there is no equal in the world of rock and yet to this day he is still not in the RnR Hall of Fame and is not rated alongside the likes of Hendrix and Page etc Why?
sorry mate dont understand what you mean I take it you dont think Ritchie is very good? if so then theres no real point arguing with you we all have our own tastes and opinions mines is that Blackers is the finest rock guitarist of all time and a true genius your opinion is obviously different
okay im not trying to start an arguement or appear ignorant, as a drummer of 25 years i am well aware of Blackmoore's musicianship and i totally agree that he is one the best rock guitarist of that era. I just dont think he's 'the best' but fair play to you for being totally reasonable. and dont get me wrong mat ecos i love deep purple...to the hilt.
The rock and roll hall of fame is missing lenty of people who simply choose not to conform. As for the arguements and opinions below as to is he or is mot the greatest rock guitarist of all time. The correct answer is YES!
I agree with you! But what can you wait from a magazine that put really shits like Britney spears, high school musical and one thousend SHITS on the ports?
when made in japan was first released there was no footage, alot of people thought Ritchie bowed the strat inthe slow part of the solo. great feed back control

I don't think there is any new rock band today that plays with that kind of intensity and passion that Purple played at. Not even close.

Blackmore's guitar work is AMAZING in this. He is not famous than Page or Hendrix, but he showed his great talent here. BLACKMORE RULES!!!
