Well Venezuela buys Iranian cars, and I did read somewhere that a total of 27 countries do.

It just seems to make no sense to hold back your own people. Makes me wonder if it all comes down to the president/religious leaders not wanting the Iranian people to get too properous. It should insult any adult that your government wants to do all your thinking for you. People have finally had enough. i am american, and like most of my countrymen, i despise the government in iran, but i understand that iran's population is very young, well educated, and appreciative of western/japanese technologies - and i immensely respect them for it. i also acknowledge how depressing and hopeless many of them feel living under an insane regime with little political & economic freedom.

Are they seriously trying to top Korea in automobile sales? 100 thousand sales? Korea's been selling millions of cars. Aim a little lower, it's gonna be at least a 100 years before Iranian automobiles can even come close to Korean.

No, 100k in exports. Over the past few years they've setup factories in many other countries. You can buy these cars in Russia and eastern europe, all over the middle east and some african countries, and also in some parts of south america.

The 'sanctions' are what's holding them back. They are the biggest automaker in the region, and they posted a 10% production increase this year, while other automakers are crashing hard.

They're doing very well.

It nice to see that Iran has it own automobile industry, the only country in the middle east making it own cars for domestic and international market.
