  • I'm Sorry I'm leaving ❤ My favorite ...Chris voice=Captivatin!!!

  • @MCgiggety22 You are not alone.

  • The little blue guy at 0:54 is the story of my life.

  • @MCgiggety22 yeah bro. I grew up with siblings ten years older then me. I used to be in fifth grade listening to "fall out boy" and "my chemical romace." both mainstream modern era garbage. My brother and sister introduced me to old alternative rock like this. Now i'm a freshmen in highschool and i stand out because i dont listen to mtv produced genres. I'm the kid who stands up for real, good music like pinback, saves the day, CKY, built to spill, etc. Lets keep real music going!

  • These people look like they're high on something. I love this song however. I remember when this came out

  • @bobbieheller your comment deserves as many thumbs up as we can give it

  • @MCgiggety22: Yeah, tell me about it.I'm the only person I know of that likes stuff like this.Mumford & Sons is another one of my favorite bands, and whenever I mention them, the general response is "Who?"

  • Still beautiful and its been such a long time since i have heard this song... :)

  • when the bass comes back in at 2:32 ish, damn i still get so hype at that part

  • just "discovered' this song today. we need more songs like this again.

  • i love this song, thanks for uploading =]

  • This song is goddamn catchy and I want Chris's sweater.

  • *sigh* I was so in love with this song.

  • I've always loved this song!

  • great video;;please check out my video;lol;;;mahaleyann

  • @tomharding didnt stay what you are come out before in reverie?

  • My fave part of this video is when they are all around the piano dancing with the puppets. Also, who cares when you started listening to them. I remember when i did to but that doesn't make a differance. If you are a true fan you don't need to say hey this when i heard them. Mainly people say that because they want to sound cool. Well you don't.

  • Ahhhhh! Good memories!!!!

  • IMO It's such a shame Chris's vocals just went downhill after SWYA. His voice is amazing here.

  • i wonder if they got to keep the puppets

  • ahh the summer of being 13. that was a good summer. i even got to see these guys that summer too. LOVE this song.

  • Oh wow. This was my favorite song by them I think. Reminds me of being 18 or so. Good memories. :)

  • ohhh me good video bad ass times. past is not the future but some of it was not all good times so the only thing i got is the future that might be a good one. bumer the things i know and others lie and wanna be.

  • These guys were, for one album at least, the greatest thing in indie rock. Everyone gets on their backs and says they fell down after this album, but they're missing the point, at least they made one great classic album. Most bands will never even dream of the quality of Stay What You Are. Peace.

  • this band is one of the few good emo bands out there. i remember in 9th and 10th grade when this is all i listened to, Now im 22 and listen to mostly indie rock and electronica, but this is definitely a nice band to come back to for nostalgia.

  • @aresnalgunna11

TOTALLY! im the same age and i used to LOVE this, along with taking back sunday, dashboard and brand new

  • @aresnalgunna11 idk i wouldn't say they are emo, but idk its all how you look at it, i would say they have an alternative/indie/almost punk sound.. kind of that wierd genre that bands like this and early november fit into

  • wow this came out in 2001. i was 12 and loved this song and video havent seen it since then. I was into punk and this kinda stuff. Now im 21 and i LOVEEE metal and some old punk and underground hip hop (WU TANG!!) but OMG what an amazing chorus. emo is soooo bad now . the original this was the last years of it being good in my opinion. Like at the drive in were ahead of there time. ugh. music is the shitttttt

  • @rotos21 wow so this was like original emo? haha wow, its evolved into craziness

  • I dont really like saves the day, or any of thoes other bands that you people are talkinga bout. But this song is so good.

  • looooooooooove it

  • All my peers speak of this band in hushed reverent tones. my gawd now i know why

  • This band was back in the days when vagrant records WAS the sound of emo, and the word emo wasnt a bad word it meant something deeper.

  • What an amazing song.

  • a couple days ago i met chris me and my band had back stage passes to a newfound glory show that they were opening up for HE IS THE NICEST DUDE IN THE FREAKING WORLD

  • 2002 was a good year.

  • OH. MY. GOSH. the memories this song brings back... SO good.

I will always love this song.

  • :(...

  • Whats up with all the memories comments? One of my favorite bands of all time still listen to them all the time.

  • Memories haha.

  • stay what you are is one of the best albums of all time.

20 years from now i will still love this band.

  • this fucking song...wow

    yea...memories galore

  • ye this song was in a skate video it was in the tao of skateboarding by brian sumner

  • @mcgnarley99 yes!! that's how i knew of them! this song was in the "kickflips" section of "the tao of skateboarding" by brian sumner, great video!

  • gives me goosbumps hearing anything from this album... jeez, i miss my youth

  • I didn't know this song was so old??

But agreed, the bass in this song is SICK!

  • great song...brings back good memories!

  • MEMORIES

  • GREAT

  • 6th grade is when I first heard this song. now Im a sophmore in college. I feel old now haha

  • God I love the bass

  • 3:37 lol puppet is rockin out

  • was this ever used in a skate vid. sounds like the get up kids.

  • It was in a skate trick tip video. The Tao of Skateboarding.

  • They don't make them like this anymore!!!

  • Whenever I watch this video, I laugh at 0:36, when Eben D'Amico nods to the puppet. Every freaking time.

    Great video.

  • wish i could make love to this song jkd. really like the song

  • too late, I already did.. me and it are now one :P and no, I don't want to make love to you.

  • I love the puppets!!!

  • Comment removed

  • because sumner is standing behind ted, sipping from a glass.

  • @eganb amazing skateboarder

  • @samijamesmusic

he is. additionally, he's also in our other video for "congratulations smack and katy", and featured prominently.

  • kinda reminds me of hawthorne heights without the screamer

  • std were a band way before hh....

  • how this would remind anyone of hawthorne heights is beyond me, saves the day shits all over that band.

  • worst comment ever. you are awful.

  • the vidoe the tao of skateboarding introduced me to thsi band

  • ME TOO!

  • good shit kid. and saves the day is wiggidy sick

  • Good Sound.

  • Nice, original, video

  • Oh my goodness!! AH! I LOVE saves the day! their music is so imagery and just awesome!

  • im only 12,but still im like the only kid at my skool tht listens to these bands (brand new, tbs, saves the day, the ataris, etc.) cuz rap has tookem over everything,i think this is the best music there is,,i am the only kid my age tht i no tht listens to this type of rock,,it has gone away

  • Rply to Mcgiggety22

    : (

unlucky. Its not fully gone away i know loads of people who love this music

  • i know how u feel man.

i was like that too back in mid school. im in high now and its still pretty much the same w/ppl listening to crap like drake, soulja boy...all that junk.

    don't give in though!

    this music IS the best!

  • I lived through this music in college and still like to listen to it. Keep on being different. Don't become "emo" because the cool alternative kids are doing it. That's just as bad as falling into the rap trap. Dig on some 70's and 80's alternative.

  • dnt worry bro im 14 and i feel the same way just listen to what you like and let the other kids listen to rap

  • i totally agree

  • @MCgiggety22 I feel ya kiddo, it was the same exact thing for me when i was your age. Just do your own thing, it pays off in the end :]

  • @MCgiggety22

Also. u dnt knw hw 2 type?

  • @asoftapproach ha yeah i was 12 back then

i was just trying to fit the comment in the required characters

but evidently now i passed a couple english classes ha

  • @MCgiggety22 that is sad dude, this is some of the best kind of music there is. you clearly know good music when you hear it. : D

  • @MCgiggety22 yeah pop-punk/emo ftw, please keep the same taste of music

  • @MCgiggety22

Prepare for a rough life, and "stay who you are".

  • @MCgiggety22

Listen I grew up with these bands, TBS is terrible now imo. Their old stuff is unreal. STD is great. Listen kid, stop worrying about labels. I listen to hip hop mostly now, but I know my roots and thats all that matters.

  • @MCgiggety22

YESSSS, i started listenin to them when i was 11, and now im 16!

This band is just hands down amazing.

  • @MCgiggety22 good for you for having a mind of your own. i'm 30, and have been listening to punk for most of my life. keep up your great taste in music. you'll find this type of music will have a lot to say to you for years to come.

  • @MCgiggety22 That's so awsome! Thank god for that, Every other kid your age probly listens to all that crap like Black Veil Brides ,Bring me the Horizon and all these other awful bands considered rock or music in general.

I remember i was like 15 when i saw this video on MTV 2 , i was like noo way Saves the Day on here? I miss those days, I wish it can either go back or something new and just as good comes out

  • @MCgiggety22 tell everyone about these bands! there is still hope.

  • This was the best time of my life when this came out... haha Shows, girls, girls, beer, and girls..

  • This was like the best time of my life when this came out...haha

  • Well here i ammmm

  • saves the day....wow my favorite,,idk what GOOD MUSIC(GOOD ROCK) would be without them

  • good opening

  • saves the day is was so sick!

  • love this song

  • this song made me fall in love w/ std

  • Ah, been forever since I heard this one, it's a great song.

  • My theme song lol

  • ma favorit band since i was a kid

  • r they emo?

  • they are probably now classed as emo but when this came out...i would of classed them as rock/pop

  • hey angie call keith if u see this video

  • took me 4 years to find this song

all i did was look up music videos featuring muppets lmao

didnt know jack about the sogn just had the tune stuck

took me an hour tonite and all my efforts finally led me to finding it :)

    amazing song :)

  • man this shit, reminds me of back in the day

  • yes it does bro..! std is the best

  • Hell yeah.

  • FOR SURE!

  • Beautiful, Beautiful Song

  • jesus. this shit takes me back

  • every time i see them they play old stuff. i saw them after sound the alarm and they still played stuff from can't slow down

  • mm I saw them at warped tour some year ago. It was awesome. But I don't think they played this song :( this is my favorite by them.

  • i miss hearing new great song from saves the day... im going to see them in 2 weeks for the first time... hope they still are what they were

  • I remember when Stay What You Are came out everyone was raving about how they were the next big band, but than In Reverie came out lol.

  • through being cool and stay what you are have the best sound. in reverie just sucks compared to those.

  • dude you have no idea what your talking about. In reverie is a great album and was extremely well done. Saves the day shouldn't have gotten so much crap for In Reverie. It was an evolution of their sound. And atleast it doesnt have lyrics like as your ghost takes flight. Im not saying I dont like stay what you are and through being cool, cause i love them. But there is nothing wrong with in reverie

  • the music is kinda emo, but they lean more on the pop side. emo would be more like hawthorne heights and silverstein. anyway saves the day is one of the greatest bands, i will definitly be listening to these guys for the rest of my life...along with chronic future, eminem, and the police

  • Brings back so many fucking happy memories of when I was about 17, I remember hearing At Your Funeral late night on VH1 and buying the album immediately the next day. Amazing band. Should have been so much more.

  • YEH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I wish they Stayed What They Were

  • OOH SNAP! Lol

  • Nice!

  • one thing i miss when i die... will be listening to saves the day... seriously this is just incredible after all these years!

  • you are music is great ¡¡¡¡

  • wooooooooOOOOOOOOHHHHHH!!!! god i love this song!!!

  • nice puppets?

  • Anyone else think Chris looks like Kurt Cobain here?

  • A little bit but dont compare em cuz Kurt Cobain was gorgeous, and had a much more masculine face

  • i see where your coming from

  • saves the day is so fucking great

  • i love this song so much that i dont even play it

its forever embedded in my mind !

  • this is one of my fav songs of all time

  • awesome.. i love this song.

  • ..love it....

  • Fantastic song not on itunes which is a pain in the scrotum

  • yes it is

  • Why Can't the radio play great music like this instead of the same hip hop song that has the same beat,,Saves The Day Indeed it more like thanks for for saving music.

  • love this song

  • O.O They're scary.

  • Monster Puppets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • love this song :D

  • this is a really sweet song. i feel kinda gay saying that lol but its good listening.

  • i like this song a lot and it was hard to find :(

  • i have been trying to find the band who did this music video for years

and all this time i thought it was saves the day

i was correct but had no proof oh man i love youtube

  • I can't deny that this falls into kind of an emo type category, but its very sincere i dig it.

  • ya but man, this came out before all that "emo" craze, i was in like grade 9 at the time, and that was before emo was really classified

  • are you kidding? mineral? titr? american football? the get up kids? around the time it was ' really classified ' to you, is about the time the original 'emo' bands were giving that title up.

  • dont forget sdre lmao but fuck it i dont call it emo, all the bands have a sora punky grunge mix

  • i know what you mean, everyone wasent like "zomg, hawthorne heights" and what not

  • i soooo agree with you!!

and now it's hard to find this kind of music..

  • have you tried iTunes..?

  • yeah, great freshman year anthem. back in high school me and my friends recreated the "through being cool" cover picture

  • Great bassline, Eben.

  • i love this song, and I love the dreariness of the vieo

  • Both this and the weezer video/songs rule.

  • the same day i heared at ur funeral oin the tv i went n bought the album and was impressed, they used to rule

  • yeah, they still rule.

granted, their last c.d. was as good as "Stay what you are" or "In Reverie". But it's still a damn good album.

  • man i love this song. i dont even know why but i do. saves the day is awesome.

  • This is so cute! Saves the Day reminds me so much of my high school years! I love them!

  • haha me too :)

  • omg i know right, this vid is so cute, and it reminds me of all the stupid things ive done, and i have walked until my heels have bled, haha well what ever, i really really like std

  • I couldn't believe they didn't play this when I saw them live.

  • and it was probably 2002 since i last heard/saw this song/vid

  • such an awesome band, awesome tune.

  • un clasico!

  • this video came out and everyone loved it, then two months later the weezer video came out with the muppets. thievery anyone?? lame....

  • hey, they're both cool. also see Supergrass's "Pumping on Your Stereo". muppets make anything cool.

  • i have love Saves the day since the album was released but i didnt know they had a video

  • best vid ever.

  • Nice cut of the video. I have never saw it before but you have the best cut out of the youtubers posts. Awesome vid, awsome song, awesome band, thank you for posting this....
