Both characters were great. Zev is hotter but Xev is funnier and has a better personality. Xev > Zev but it's hard to choose. The gender reversal sex scene between Xev and Stanly in season 2 is the best.
I like both Zev and Xev, they had different qualities. For me Zev is the prettiest, Xev is too porn-star looking with her over the top lips. I do think Xev could be funnier though. I love both red and blue hair, hard to choose between the hairdos.
Lexx is one of the best SCI-FI shows. I loved the series so much. The plot is not the most inventive, but the banter and atmospheric situation of the show makes for a very enjoyable watch, especially late night when it normally airs.

But to be honest i really can't be arsed to argue anymore :)
Kai was quite a bit more "alive" overall in the pilot episodes, though he's never quite completely dead. My personal theory is that the "emotional" parts of his brain are actually severely inhibited rather than completely destroyed (and the inhibition kinda breaks down when Kai himself is "broken" in one way or another). But i'm not sure you're particularly interested in my "fanfixes", and overall my opinion on this stuff matters to the show itself about as much as anyone else's anyways.
I do recall hearing Michael McManus saying that they were considering making Kai a lot more "angsty" about not being alive, but it didn't feel quite right, and he himself found it more interesting to "play dead" (pun intended :). I think it was in season 3 dvd extras, though might have seen it on a youtube vid.

Interesting. I always thought his lack of emotion was purely psychological. Like, his awareness of the fact of his death lead him to a sense of bitterness about it, hence all of his sarcastic remarks. (i.e. "the dead are not motivated")
