LiEnucks is a piece of shit FAILED OS that'll forever be known as a failure. Just look at the facts: 20+ years at 1% market share. No software or hardware compatibility. My friend had their WiFi not work today because LiEnucks (namely Ubuntu 10.10) did not support it out of the box. What a fucking joke, eh? LOL.

hey, looks pretty impressive but for me its just a bit overloaded with efects. im using mac os leopard right now and i can see some similarity between the minimizing and thumnailing all windows at once(in macs in expose). i cannot say whats better cos i didnt use beryl. i just prefer mac os. but once again. effects istself looks pretty amazing.

When Linux takes more of the PC market share, we can talk. Currently Linux = 0.87%, Mac = 6.61% and the majority of the rest is good ole Microsoft :)

I'm not saying it isn't a good idea, I maintain a Linux Server and a few Virtual Linux boxes, but they are still no Windows.

For the normal user, Windows is the way to go. Microsoft did what everyone wants AND needs: MADE IT EASY.  Make it easy and people will flock.

every operating system I've ever used (OS9 OSX Windows 95, Win 98, Win XP, Win Vista, Ubuntu, Fedora) has used (stolen) parts from others but I must say they are all excellent. They have come really far and they all deserve credit for modern computers being as good as they are and modern Operating Systems being as good as they are.

so install it, look if you have a nvidia card, beacause the ati cards causes problems with 3d desktop on linux.. but nvidia works really fine!

it isn't hard, just different. far simpler and more logical. when you get started on linux, you go about it the stupid way (if you're used to microbrain methods).. installations are far simpler with linux installers like YaST or SMART

for first question install beryl-manager, launch it go to general options, shortcuts, screen edges, and set an edge to inanimate window picker

for your second question you the default hotkey for the rain it shift F9

Look around at various Beryl videos. They are all different. You can completely customize Beryl, even use your own images as the bars, and many things like that. The options menu is huge.

I don't think so. This is a new project that builds on novell's compiz. Compiz comes with opensuse since 10.1 (currently 10.2). And will be part of Ubuntu - Feisty-Fawn, which will be released in April.

It can run on any linux distribution, but it still needs some manual work - with the exeption of suse.

BTW. Beryl is not limited to Linux; it also runs under BSD (which means that, it can probably be persuaded to run under MacOS X or Darwin).
