Revenge is the only word, 'that' does not stand in military terms, as a military action, therefore; when a military unit commits revenge, there 'is' no honor. Revenge is the only word you could put on this stupidity of killing old women, men and children. What honor is there in such an action? Therefore, rescind the Medals of Honor for the Wounded Knee Massacre (battle, in military terms).
Read the epic novel "Rescue at Pine Ridge", 5 stars Amazon Int., the story of the revenge and redemption.
The stolen land, forced exile, almost what could be called a holocaust of the native american nations its something that still resound in the consciousness of this country. Not mentioning the the enforcement of a religion that came to alienate their beliefs! hopefully one day the government will set the records straight!
I find it hard to swallow that our government is sending money to countries all over the world for disaster relief when our native people on the reservations are suffering just as much. The reservations out in Manitoba don't even have running water and children have to go down to lakes in the winter and break through the ice for water to wash in before school. Lets clean up our own back yard before we help others. Don'tjust send cash to look good to the world, lets do some good at home.
I agree its about time the ndn nations where reconizied .I adore all the music people ndn Nations .They are my friends and treat me with so much love and respect much more that i was ever given even by my own so called family they are my family its all i need
This is the most soul searching version of Wounded knee I have ever heard. I am so happy to see so many of our native talented people getting recognized. People like Walela, Jana Mashonee and Robby Robertson. The Red man has allways had pride and I would love to see a native President.
its sad all they was doin was tryin to find a better life then what was on the reservation a whole inocent camp slaughtterd! i feel for then cause i am too a native american and i feel ther pain
@jphill4 what two civilizations? European/Native? American/Native? The slaughter continues, go to any reservation and ask them, if ALL of their people are happy, well fed, have a decent roof over their heads. How many are genetically born drunk, how many are starving, freezing, homeless. Better yet, find a Native outside of the rez, how are they doing, financially, socially, physiologically, psychologically are they all well or just a few. And regardless of what anyone says, We are One people.
Plus, why do I NEED to have a CDIB card in the first place? At what point, will the government say to a Native you are not Native anymore you are white. @ethnosify by the way where are you from, what is your heritage since you know so much. Do you speak Cherokee? Soiux? Shawnee? Pawnee? Halito! Sa hohchifo yat Steve. Chi hohchifo yat nanta? Chahta imanompa ish anompola hinla ho̱?
@Bushidohorse What you fail to realize is this. Since 1492, when Columbus first arrived in the Americas, the Native Nations have not been at peace. Either with themselves or with the whites. Just like the CIA was selling cocaine and other drugs to the black society. The government itself as a whole is attempting and has been attempting to erradicate the Native population through ethnic cleansing. If you question this, find a Native ask to see his cards, IF they are with a registered tribe.
What you all dont get is that there existed two civilizations that could not coexist. One had to go. Tecumpseh almost pulled it off if not for his dumb ass brother. Though different, parallels can be drawn between Indian/European and Jew/Palestinian problems today. And don't tie this shit to modern americans; the slaughter of the indians came at the hands of first through third generation and fourth generation europeans.
Thank you so very much for this video. I keep coming back to it and I intend to visit Brainard Reserve to meet the fine people of the Oglala Sioux. If I ever came into money from any source I would give to the Sioux and Apache reserves. I truly want to see the native people rise again and become once again a people to reckon with in the US.
I have been to Brainard Indian Reservation South Dakota Ogualala Sioux have good heart and soul I admire them. I have felt the anger too and the pain.
If we could have asked them to share the land instead of slaughter them like they were nothing We wouldnt be in the mess as we are today.
Bushidohrse read the book "Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee" by Dee Brown and then talk about who shall reap what they sew. They are still trying to take over everyone elses land!!!!!!!
i saw the movie.. there's no argument that it was evil. The question before each of us is how will we see other ppl. You see us as white or red or whatever. That makes u blind to the good in others and the evil in u.
also Damien, i think the USA has reaping the whirlwind for quite a while. Since we leave here, it's not good for our children either. It's time to scatter stones...if u know wut i mean.

I am sickened by this song and all the people who revised us. This false history "Walela"- means nothing in Cherokee. Shame on fooling part Indians R and P, your her daughter you lured into being a fake Indian. You are the part of killing of the helpless now.
coming from. They are giving us a reminder of what happened to the Aboriginal people. These girls are very proud of the Cherokee blood in their veins. Are you so full of hate you dont want
anyone to understand you. The wisest guy
I ever spoke to was Chief Dan George a long time ago before he passed and I'm only sorry my conversation with him was so short. You need some peace in your life my friend.
@nightrider836 Come down here and say that Canadian person. What are you on? The only thing Rita and her family have in their veins is LORAAZAPAM or some other 'traquilizer', to put it nicely. Please don'y give me that noble indian speel either. Call one of the unrecognized by the feds tribes, they can help you through your trauma.
I love this song but I am sickened at what the white men did to the natives at Wounded Knee. They were under a white flag and had turned over all their guns when the white soldiers began shooting and killed helples men women and children. The souls of these men should pay for eternity.
this is silly talk nightrider...how many "natives" did the mohicans kill, how bout the kiowas? do u know of sioux atrocities against "first nations people"? does it matter to u? ppl are ppl, and all capable of extreme selfishness and cruelty. keep up the hate of whites and youll reap what youve sewn
bushidohorse I know all about the tribal wars. Still no reason for the white man to slaughter innocent women and children.
You sound as if you condon this type of action. I also never said anything about hating all whites I am more educated than that. I was refering to the soldiers who did the killing of women, children and unarmed warriors. That to me is cowardly and evil. If you look at the Lakota
Sioux reservations you can tell they are getting no help at all.
I misunderstood u then. There's no reason for meanness from anyone. My real point is that we can focus on a deed by a few and have our understanding distorted. For example, we can look at heinous crimes committed by blacks and then hate all blacks. That's a serious error.
There are cowardly and brave, evil and good among all groups of ppl.
as far as the Lakota, I would think if i were them, i would not want "help". i would want my children to learn the dignity of self-sufficiency.
@bushidohorse Actually-there's quite a few incidents in the 60's-70's that are covered up until recently-Wounded Knee actually had 2 "slaughters"-the one with Custer and the one in that time period.
@numutabin i hope all truth is revealed....but seriously, what do u want to DO about it? I prefer not to complain just because i can...what's the SOLUTION?
Bringing up crimes without an end in mind is pointless.
Can you be satisfied, ever? Should the British still hate Rome? Should the Germans still hate Mongolians? Should the Greeks still hate the Persians?
Or should they seek now to live peacefully with all people?
IndianOutlaw I am only a little part of native blood in me from my great great grandfather on my mothers side but my heart is all with you. Hi earlslittlegirl thank you for the info. My last living aunt who I always told her she looked Hawian has told me I have American Indian blood in me on my mothers side but she thinks it was Ogala Souix. I wish my mothers brother was still allive as he looked like a full blood indian and even made a ton of aboriginal friends while working in Florida.
