After Manny years of using a modified Allbright to connect Braid to Mono, and getting a 90-95% strength knot, I have changed it to the brilliant FG knot ("Chinese finger trap" technique).

the FG knot is 110% strength, in all the tests i have made, my shock leader is breaking always before the knot and never on the knot itself, there is no knots on the Mono line and the knot is elegant, smooth and snag free.

While you get the idea of how to tie the FG knot, its hard to impossible to go back.
