As far as the computer's concerned, a switch is a switch. If you leave the toggle on, it's just like holding down the power button, i.e. after 5 seconds the PC shuts off again. However, if you flick it on, and then off again, it's like pressing the power button and then letting go. Works like a charm.
I did notice that. The original video was in sync, but for some reason YouTube's transcoding engine doesn't like the format I gave it. I'll be redoing this one at a later date.
