They think that it's wrong to offend them and yet they're allowed to denigrate us Atheists or even other religions. They try and say "Freedom of speech unless it's offensive!". The main reason I remain sceptical over the existence of a 'god', and that applies to anybodies 'god', is the huge chasm of inconsistencies. First, you endow your 'god' with INFINITE ability. Sometimes free speech is quite a burden on a minority group of people. Does anyone else get tired of talking about religion? Maybe it's because of where I live or/and the people I'm surrounded by, but it's so exhausting defending myself and a couple of other friends. I've always made it a point to listen and to understand someone's point fully before responding, but sometimes I just want to avoid religion altogether. You know, take a break.

While you might not *ban* me for saying things, there certainly are things that are illegal to say. Death threats are in fact one of them. Another is an incitement to crime, and then there's libel. I'm sure there is more. Bottom-line: there is no freedom of speech. There are always limits. To have true and real and complete freedom of speech, you'd need anarchy.

First I have to say that I am a Christian and you and I fundamentally disagree on just about everything, but, having said that I must go further. You are actually being targeted more for being a female who insulted islam than for actually insulting islam. there is a double standard here. My husband read a story in the WSJ for me yesterday about women being given "night letters" by the taliban in afghanistan. They are killing women who work. Kids going to schools and meet kids of different backrounds is a healthy thing, for this reason I support dietary accomodations to religion where practical. I think the enforce labeling that comes with the headscarf is a problem and kids should not be made targets for bullying.
