  • proton P3-21A better than this car....

  • @raydenPGD111 00107

  • I swear as i read the real world mpg's and perormance from owners it makes me believe that kia is over optomistic on its mpg ratings and hp ratings. i assume this car is a good car new but what about 5-10 years down the road. thats when these cars suffer. new they are very competitive but used then the reliabilty falls behind. always has

  • Kia claims the 2.0-liter will be good for 0-to-60 jaunts in the eights and the 2.4-liter in the sevens.

  • Angry dominatrix? Kinky.

    I'm buying this car.

  • I rented one last summer & loved the way it drove. I did not want to give it back to Enterprise. :)

  • O-60 LOL did you have the e-brake on?? I think a hummer h2 would do that

  • kia = trash

  • I sw another -stock- video on youtube and timed 6.9 seconds. 11.9?

  • that 0-60 time is WAYY off.

  • im seeing this car more and more i might get it!!

  • booooooo.....you said it has front seats!!!!

  • You seem like a nice person but you not good at car reviews.

    1. Your 0-60 time is so far off it makes you look very unprofessional and just plain incompetent.

    2. Your audio is horrible

    3. Your comparing the ease of entry/exit with a Tesla roadster?

    FAIL

  • @Vachowski it was an auto how do you screw a up a 0 to 60

  • @Vachowski 4. Shut Up

  • @Vachowski I agree. You're also repetitive. And that 14 year old's milk mustache...

  • @Vachowsuck

He is providing a service. The audio was understandable. That 0-60 time was pretty accurate (I have driven a few of these with the slappy-paddle shift 6 speed auto).

In all, I would say that this production is better than your grammar ("... you no good at car reviews.")

Thanks for keeping America stupid. - Frejdyn

  • @Vachowski He also named "all of the things people want" yet failed to mention fuel economy. Thats probably one of the main reasons people buy this car.

  • @eclipsetuner99

Mind you, like most cars, the real world fuel economy is NOWHERE near the EPA rating. I own one and believe it or not, this thing guzzles as much gas as my previous car, the fire breathing, 263 hp Mazdaspeed 3. I am disappointed by the fuel economy. They claim 9.0 L/100 km/h city but I am doing 12.0. Not impressed.

  • @Vachowski do you know that they are at over 7000 feet of elevation? so they are going to have less power.

  • @Vachowski

I agree with all your points, especially in regards to the 0-60 time. These guys are completely 'out to lunch' or more like 'gone for the day' on the acceleration.

  • @forexdragon actually they're at 7000 feet above sea level. and at that height the engine has a lot less power than at sea level. That's why their 0-60 was slow

  • @techdude6693

Thanks. I did not realize that. Did they point that out? I don't think so. They should have tested it on flat ground.

  • @forexdragon Yea they got a of negative feedback over their 0-60 times, so in their more recent videos they've started pointing that out now. They probably could have test it at sea level, but it might not be the most practical solution for them. Either way, at least he covered the rest of the points well, most buyers of this car aren't too concerned with acceleration anymore

  • @techdude6693

Thanks for the info. Yes. People buy compacts for fuel economy not performance. I agree that all around the review was pretty good.

  • @forexdragon I don't know about others, but I own an SX Hatch w/ 6-speed auto and it usually gets to 60 in 7-7.5. not too bad for a tiny 4-banger car. as far as mileage though, I'm getting about 28-29 in mixed driving.

  • @techdude6693

Wow 7-7.5? Have you actually clocked that? I hear the hatch is slower being heavier. It's nice you have the 6 speed auto. I am in the sedan with only 5 gears. I wish the hatch was available when I bought my Forte. Hatchbacks are so much more practical. The extra gear might yield you slightly better fuel economy.

  • @forexdragon A friend clocked it for me. Its a bit heavier than the sedan, but the Koup is the heaviest of the 3 body styles. I actually was planning on getting the Koup, but I got to the dealer and they had this SX Hatch with the tech package on it, so I decided to get that instead.

And yea, its got a pretty large engine for a small car. A lot of people said though that the car is a lot better with new tires. More comfortable and less noisy.

  • @techdude6693

Yeah the Forte is great. My next car will probably be the Optima Turbo or hybrid. What an amazing car.

  • @forexdragon The Turbo is an Amazing car! My dad replaced his old Lexus GS with an Optima Turbo SX and couldn't be happier. Gets good milage and its pretty damn fast off the line too. Plus it doesn't have the overpriced insurance and maintenance cost of the Lexus. Sure the Optima doesn't have the badge name, but honestly who cares? It does everything we need just fine

  • @techdude6693

The Optima was in such demand in Korea that there was a waiting list for it when it launched in North America. I love the LED brake lights too

  • @forexdragon Yea the brake lights are nice, too bad they're only on the hybrid or SX, not even the EX Turbo. But either way, its a great car and everybody who sees it thinks it cost 45K for whatever reason and when I say it was about 30, they're always surprised.

  • @techdude6693

The Forte is no slug for sure. I almost lost control of mine when I tried to go around an idiot who stopped to turn left at a 'no left turn' intersection. I floored it and as I went around him, the torque steer almost sent me into a crowd of pedestrians crossing the street. The tires aren't certainly racing slicks, but they sure are lousy in the wet. The biggest minus about this car is the crude suspension. It is horrible over anything but the smallest bumps/potholes.

  • @forexdragon and as far as the suspension goes, yea I agree. I think its also due more to the fact that the SX has sports suspension which is already more firm to start with. The EX isn't that bad, but I'd rather have the 2.4 than a comfy suspension

  • @techdude6693

Yeah the EX rides so much better. KIA went with a torsion beam setup on the rear but it doesn't work.

  • @Vachowski

Actually, the audio wasn't that bad. I have experienced much lousier audio on some of the other auto reviews on youtube. The Tesla roadster comparison was just as 'out to lunch' as the 0-60 times. Next thing you know they will be comparing the ingress/egress of the new Kia Rio to a Ferrari F40.

  • @freddydarksage KEY MISTAKES in your every point.

#1, forte 4-door seden has LX, EX and the sports version SX.

#2, SX's engine is 173hp, more powerful than that of LX and EX. You don't have a choice here and hence he doesn't have to specify the engine.

#3 im declaring your posting a FAIL

  • this car actually gets 7.2 secs on 0-60

  • I quote "this asian import" you my friend are a Dumas. Let's start with the fact that the kia forte is a korean import. Second if I bought a kia forte which I did I would and did buy it for speed.

  • @jomccarty korea is an asian country, go buy a globe

  • That was more than 3 minuts hey hey!!! you owe me 42 seconds!!!

  • @freddydarksage

Correction: The four door sedan has three trim levels, the base LX, EX and SX. The Koup only has two trim levels, I believe, the LX and SX. It's on the Kia website.

  • kool kar

  • thats bullshit the 0-60 time 11. what ever seconds what do you not know how to drive lol and its a 5 speed auto that lame the real kia forte sx 6 speed gets to 60 in about 7 to 8 seconds if you know how to drive so this review pretty much sucked...

  • @pcwizzerd This review does suck. Which is why I posted my 0-60 time in my auto 2.4L SX. ~7.1secs.

  • 11 secs to 60 ive seen better times with this car u suck at driving u could get 7 secs to 60 out of this car!

  • 11.6 ? lol...thats like me speeding my 1990 accord to 60 XD!

  • Don't believe that crap... my SX did 0 - 60 in 7 secs, and it's stock. Check my zero to 60 video. In fact, I might just post it as a video response.

  • Stylish, I certainly wouldn`t mind driving one of these.

  • I agree.
