There is a general feeling that Tibet, as the place where the Buddhadharma was preserved in it's fullest, is the property of all humankind and of no country in particular. From this stand point we are very concerned that Tibetans cannot freely practice their religion and openly venerate their great teachers such as His Holiness the Dalai Lama. It is very sad and I hope China quickly talks to His Holiness, since he has always asked only for peaceful solutions and mutual respect.
I have been a Tibetan Buddhist since I was a teenager when my Lama's came and found me in Alaska where I was born. I am so fortunate to, as a Westerner, to encounter this beautiful path to peace while so young. I am now 45. The feeling I have is that Tibet is part of my personal tradition and I have been educated in this way. This is also true for many other Westerners like myself, several millions of us as well as many more Chinese and Indians.
As a Chinese, I am willing to die for Tibet. When I travelled to Tibet last summer holiday, I love this place. After I graduate from the university, I hope to be a volunteer to help people in Tibet. I want to come back to Tibet as soon as possible.
And while I’m here and write these lines with an ink stained with tears my thoughts are in the place that I call my homeland, Tibet, the land of snow, our land.
I don’t know much about life but I know I’m Tibetan. That’s how I feel and that won’t change. Even if I don’t have much to show, this is my pride.
We’re all the same; we stick together. And wherever we are on earth, we have a common brotherhood...
I have not been there before, but Tibet is always on the top of my travel list. It is a paradise, maybe not in the real world but in everyone's mind, no matter what you believe or where you come……
Hi good Video. In the moment i study in Chongqing and for me is it very difficult to find the truth. The news from the west and from China are to diffrent. So i want to know the truth.
Thank you for showing us something different about Tibet:) The media is trying to shape people's mind and use the propaganda for political issue. It is very important show some true pictures of Tibet, and leave people to make their own choice of what to believe. But every media works for its own country (own political party), so it's just hard to know what is really happening. Maybe go travelling is indeed the best way. See by yourself and you will know what is true.
Tibet should be a most peaceful place, not a political battleground.....I do know all my chinese friends, include me, we all treat tibetan as family, and always respect their own culture and religion. This movie really shows what tibetan life right now. guys, you can't say anything to criticize us if you never been to tibet by yourself. All chinese welcome you to china, and find out the real truth of Tibet.
Tibet in the eyes of a Han Chinese tourist... " 50 years and you can still smell the blood??" ... Tibetans blood continues to run because of the Chinese occupation. Nothing has changed..stop trying to save face 爭面子. . . . 漢沙文主義,
Thankfully i have now seen something outside of Western media, it is so hard to find worth while sources and opinions from Tibetans, i hope during my travels to China to go to Tibet and see it all for myself. To expierence is to gain knowledge :)
Tibet has been a controversial issue which raised up by the western media. It has became a land full of issues, wars and blood. You really brought back the purity and tranquil of this piece of land, and recall's the true wisdom of Buddha
@getfree999 "Chinese flags waving on Tibetan buildings is compulsory in Tibet, Tibetans are even given money to hang it." LOL really funny point of view. You know what? I think you are given money to spread out all these misleading words as well. :)
how many of you who post the comments have been to tibet or read the history/culture/living of tibet? the most reason that the world care about tibet is probably because tibet is in china. fifty years ago it's ireland, now tibet. whos next?
for tibetans we believe in Utsang, Amdo, and Kham as one unified Tibet.
After 60 yrs of chinese oppression, China has never been able to break this and they never will. Our history and culture goes back so far and so rooted in us we will never let the chinese propaganda wash us away.
why didn't you include all the images of the military police in Tibet? this also gives a better reality to what is happening in Tibet. maybe u can play some nice music over that and say tibetans are having a great time under military repression?
Chinese government has been silently moving Tibetan nomads of our land for years, into ghetto style housing blocks.Yep, just as the US did to the native americans, & we know the result of that. China has moved 1.5 million tibetans, which is resulting to suicide, alcohol abuse & looting. By 2015 they aim to remove all 2.5 million nomads, China believe the traditional nomadic life is backwards, but more importantly they want to control & tighten the grip on tibetans and then build mining & dams
very impressive .... XiZang is one part of China for definitely sure! I can not understand those people who come from other countries can be so rude to intervene other countries affair with no compelling arguments and biased views. Can any countries in this planet be perfect and "pure" ?!! What's the purpose of that kind of disgrace?!! PLZ, the humans , be precious to the peaceful world ..
What a lovely piece of Chinese propaganda! What of the stories of Tibetans that are in complete oppostion to the image painted in this video? If Tibetans are so happy why are they burnign themselves alive screaming out for Freedom for Tibet and the return of His Holiness???
@RKungaChodron So,what about those US barracks in the middle east which always attacked by suicide attack of people who live there? Do US represent justice, freedom, and peace? So why so many suicide attacks?
@CheriseJD I didn't know we were talking about the U.S. I thought you were propagandinzing your beloved country of China. As an American I am very aware of the atrocities this country and its government has been perpetrating for 300 years. I will as quickly point a finger on the U.S. government as I will at China's CCP, What about you??? Do you see the gross imperfections of your China? From the looks of your video I'd say not.
@RKungaChodron I think that is because they feel desperate to go back to their "old gold days" to slave other common Tibetan people. I will go to Xizang next summer to have a look myself.
12 tibetans from the eastern region of tibet have set themselves on fire resisting china's military crackdown. How can you close your eyes to this reality?
@getfree999 it is true they set fire on themselves, but are you sure that is for "resisting china's military crackdown". another question, is military crackdown to riot wrong? Please come to Tibet to get some true ideas, and in the same time help the tourism of Tibet.
Showing smiling Tibetans with a nice background music does not prove anything. Chinese flags waving on Tibetan buildings is compulsory in Tibet, Tibetans are even given money to hang it. So many videos are coming out of Tibet via youtube, which give us the true sentiments of Tibetans in Tibet. This video by a Chinese does not. Respect the voices of Tibetans in Tibet who call for human rights & freedom. Its a simple ask that china is not willing to give. Tibet is not at peace, WAKE UP!
@getfree999: Only one piece of advice, I have numerous tibetan friends in Amdo and Tibet, none of them told me they were REQUIRED to hang the flag. Actually, none of them hand any flags.
@zhuhaoyue1013 another thing which is widely known within Tibetans and said by many Tibetans from Tibet esp. Amdo and Kham, is they ALWAYS tell the Chinese what they want to hear. If they are sad they say they are happy, when they know the Chinese government is failure to the Tibetan people, they say they are good. The bottom line and majority of the time Tibetans don't tell the Chinese the truth in fear of heavier repression. If you respect Tibetans, also respect their rights to human freedom.
@getfree999 Wow I can't believe what a critical thinker you are! Why don't you mention that you ALWAYS tell the rest of the world what THEY want to hear? Why don't you mention that Tibet is receiving limitless supplies from China, and that Tibet people ( I mean REAL Tibet people not some mockups trying to convince everybody that they are Tibet people but they are actually foreign born and know nothing about what Tibet is) are treated with more privileges than the majority of people in China?
@LLLEOLLLL Actually we do. We knw how much china spends in tibet, how much construction is going on a rebuilding compared to any Chinese city in China. But who & how many Tibetans has it actually benefited compared to the influx of Chinese into Tibet? The reality is china is trying to rebuild tibet to please the world, to say hey, look what we are doing, but inside Tibetans get very little from it.That is why Tibetans in Tibet are so angry & thats one of the reasons why tibetans rose up in 2008.
@getfree999 So whatever Chinese government is doing, they are doing it to please the world. I see, with that logic you can't ever lose can you? It's like Freud saying everything you do is because of your childhood sex abuse. Very smart, and very IRRESPONSIBLE too. What have you done for the Tibet people? Other than claiming you are one of them and trying to get funding from the CIA to get yourself into an expensive law school? What have you really done for the real Tibet people?
@getfree999 don't be that stupid buddy, anything u said must be based on what u set eye's on, don't tell me how many video and pic u've seen tibetan was killed via google and youtube cuz i'm sure i've seen more. From ur word i can see u totally dont know what politic is. Goverment is all about lying, The only diffenrt between us is u were lied by ur goverment and i was lied by mine. Only one thing i can tell u, tibet has massive nuclear resources that all the country want.
How can u say tibetans born in exile are not real tibetans or tibetans who have escaped are not real tibetans? what do you know about being tibetan. You are chinese, not even close to being a tibetan or can even understand our way of thinking. our families in tibet &we have direct communication with them, we know exactly who we are. Your reasons or excuses to prove we are blind sighted is so weak, & it really reflects on the Chinese leadership in tibet - chinas policy in Tibet is a failure.FACT!
Then holy son of a slaveholder, how do you value your "leadership" in Tibet before 1950s? And do you need me to provide you some pics that you holy dalai lama will never let u see? Like how the majority of Tibetan, not your father or grandfather, were living under your holy administration?
I am Manchu Chinese, and the only Tibetan Chinese I know comes from an ex-slave family.
@getfree999 I dont know why that I can always see some people like you who spend much time to mislead. I believe that you also know the truth. And minority races including Tibetan can get very good treatment in every school by policy. China is the most population country and it wasnt as rich as like US after all, but the government never give up to help Tibetan out of poverty even we all know the corruption is heavy.
@Ulyssislidi clam down man,you really should be there and WATCH,then you can say something.Rather than listen the media talking bullshits about Tibet and follow them
I'm impressed by this video. Too many people in the world only saw the riots that had taken place in Tibet, but they never knew the riots were provoked by someone who could not represent all the Tibetans. Meanwhile, normal Tibetans only focus on their spiritual approach to the Buddha, totally have nothing to do with politics. Through your camera lens, and inspired by the background music you had chosen, you showed us by this video that Tibet is as peaceful as usual.
Be there, then say something. If not, please shut up. Tibet is open to everyone, you wanna truth? just move your ass to Tibet to take a look.
