Oy means like "hey" or "you there". It's like an exclamation (Oy!).

That's not what Oy means. Oy means Oh. Oy is short for Oy Vey, which is Yiddish. And Oy Vey means, Oh no, or Oh god, or something used to express dismay, annoyance or grief.

True in some areas of the world it means hey, but in the show it was used for the Yiddish meaning.

I think you are confusing "Oy" with "Oi." In the UK and elsewhere, "Oi!" does in fact mean "Hey!" or "You there!"
