The Swan hotel is the best spot. It can be found near the main entrance to the airfield on the main road. Google it. You will not be alone, but it never gets too busy. The aircraft will be right over your head on final approach.
That looks like a great filming spot, can you recommend some perimeter area viewing spots, I would like to film the F22 raptor this year, but its only flying on a trade day.
No, it's SPELT Gripen... ;-)

Funny you should say that. I'm in New Zealand at the moment (Fairlie). I heard you used to use outdated skyhawkes but now have no fast jets....

Gripen = Griffin,Gryphon
Named in a contest in early 80`s.
Britts and Swedes are making this plane togheter.
There were no Vikings, only Northern Germanic tribes.
The word was shown first in some Anglosaxist poem.
Jus like natives in N America were called Indians by the ppl who knew it all. >_<

Short 'i' as far as I know. I don't know what it means though?
Anyone?
englishelectric 5 years ago
Well, In sweden we like to pronounce it like the werb grab(grip).
But it really comes from Griphon, that fairytell stuff.like Griffon.
Im no pro but in tauntonic languages we tend to prounonce that ph in diff ways.
If i get to guess we really should say Griphen in Swedish.
Seems like Grippen isnt that wrong in English.

What the heck is "Grippen"? It is Gripen with a long "i"
as if you spelt it like 'Greepen.'
