  • What isn´t correct with Clayderman? He is a good pianist, isn´t he? I´m just saying ´cause i´m not a music master so i think what i can hear...

  • As a young girl, I LOVED RC. He played easy-listening music looking you in your eyes. He was beautiful, gorgeous!! It was also easy to copy his music and feel good playing it. HE MADE ME FEEL GOOD! But this video made me feel sad because his fingers look so stiff and he butchered the music. I feel sad he needs the sheet music to play this simplified piece.

He's a crappy pianist, but he was one of the greatest entertainers. He made millions feel good. Is that so bad? Back to my Scherzo.

  • hay re

  • Parodius

  • Bravísimoooooooo....excelente querido Richard......

  • Sorry: moderately talented kids..

  • How utterly ridiculous. He can't play at all, I've taught very moderately kids who could do better. But thanks for the laughs..

  • that piano has a fucked up tone, sounds horrible.

  • richard u rok

  • For me this is a marvelous performance. Some jealous people commenting here . R.C. have a real talent he started to play at age of 3 he can play anything ,classic, pop (which is more in his carer with a simple technique), jazz etc. He can play music with a very difficult grade. Before starting to be famous he was prepared by his father to be a solo classic pianist. He found his first opportunity in romantics songs piano, but this doesn't mean that he can't perform complicate music.

  • I've been watching a lot of ather versions of this song just a few moments ago and this reminds me of why I really hate the guy. He can't play. He really can't. This lacks every kind of feeling. Yeah, a clown indeed @Alejandro270193

  • @ikkejick what keep you watching?

  • for some reasons that Eastern European music have more lives and joys in it.

  • Wow! What a great performance. I have never heard such heartfelt playing. This man is a genius (attention: HATERS). If Brahms could hear this, he would weep tears of joy!! This song must be very hard to play, because Mr. Clayderman seems to be playing from the written music. People who criticize are just jealous that they were not born with such a divine gift!

  • @ekphooldomali First of all it's not a song which kind of voids your comment. And second, there are pianists that are playing full concertos from memory who are still only in uni (It's a requirement in their 4th year). This is not a very hard piece at all. He's not actually playing an original he's playing a simplified version. Evgeny Kissin plays the Tchaikovsky Concerto at 17... From memory. He's not a musician, he's an entertainer.

@ikkejick and @alejandro270193 are absolutely right!

  • @stevey226 Hi Stevey. I was being facetious; calling the piece a "song" adds to the ignorance. Clayderman's success attests to the low-brow sensibilities of his fans in a world of soap operas and Hamburger Helper. Real musicians (I am one) are rightfully incensed. But in the end, it's not his fault - he's merely feeding on his undiscriminating fans. Speaking of the Tchaikovsky Concerto, check out Clayderman's. Watch his hands. Clearly he's never actually played the piece.

  • @ekphooldomali So you put up a video and show how it is done. Or is it just Blah Blah Blah

  • @MrHooties God! I hope Jesus does NOT resurrect you. Please God! Put him at the end of the resurrection just before Hitler.

  • Respond to this video... fh

  • To all those people who are here to criticize THE PRINCE OF ROMANCE; is to easy, just go to see another pianist and stop suffering and putting your frustration on his videos. I mean, if you really feel so bad, what keep you watching?

  • what a noob

    brahms rolls in his tomb

  • It’s incredible how merchandising can turn a no one pianist into a celebrity. In other times nobody will talk about him neither as a pianist nor less as a composer.

  • Why ???????????????????????????????????????????

  • povero Brahms, vittima di un simile massacro. Awful.

  • hes elephant

    PALIACHO!

    lol

see kissin and the difference between the genius and the comercial guy...

  • I love listening to this composition of Brahms when played in piano, but i like it even more being performed along with other instruments. =)

  • Wow. How amazing. He played the most elementary version of this peice. I love how he moved all his fingers on the left hand as if he was playing all the notes. Well done.

  • See, if you're lacking in talent, you can always eke out a living in Clayderman's industry.

  • He's awesome. It is very hard to play this piece well. WELL DONE!

  • very impressive, i'm making a jazz big band arrangment of this piece. very difficult but this vid is a gd help lol

  • Brahms composed the original for piano 4 hands. You can chek Dover Published

  • i dont think that brahms wroted this for piano. it s for a big orchestra. the dominant instrument should be violin. when richie plays the violins almost muted :D really funny. here u have to celebrate this clown not the music. thumb down. sorry.

  • @smoker1kk Love your comment. hahaha. Your sarcasm made me laugh so hard.

  • @smoker1kk i agree :D

  • AH Putain, C'est extraordinaire.

  • IT was NOT composed by Clayderman. It WAS composed by Johannes Brahms at 19th century.

XIX.

  • to be exact:

Dance number 5 was based on the csárdás by Kéler Béla titled "Bartfai emlek" which Brahms mistakenly thought was a traditional folksong.

Only numbers 11, 14 and 16 are entirely original compositions, the rest is based on Hungarian themes.

  • Clayderman it's just a clown

  • showman, it's better :)

  • He might be a clown, but a clown with an exquisite taste and fine talent. I'm sure you

can;t play even with your ten fingers what he

can play with his pinky. Don't be a mooronic

critic of one of the finest piano players in the

world. I do not know who you are , but I know

who Richard Clayderman is. That, alone,

should indicate that you are a mooron.

  • "One of the finest piano players in the world" LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!!!!!!!!! maybe, that's why his music is played in the shopping malls and the hairdresser's shops.........

  • practice makes it possible and remember that his job is to play the piano so imagine him all the day playing piano ouch!

  • how do you back up your argument? by calling someone a moron? by saying you "know" him? i'd really like to know how you know him.

and before you ask, i'm a fan of clayderman too. but you've just proven that you, like a few of his fans can be moronic too

  • @Alejandro270193 He belongs to the same kind than André Rieu.

  • @Alejandro270193

    Lawl.. why?

  • @Alejandro270193 Clown..is you mother and you...idiot!

  • an abysmal arrangement played well except the whole thing was so rigid....very poor version really of a brilliant piece...disappointing...

  • I totally agree with you, it's a really really really poor version, as all of Clayderman's

  • OMG, what is the piano?? so nice, beautiful, clear sound...

  • Steinway. It says so.

  • tis song is very famouse in korea

  • It was Bramhs who made this piece amazing, not Clayderman. I really love the first seconds : the orchestra did an amazing work engraving the melody in our mind. The piano has few work to do in this piece. When I read the title, I thought it was at least a piece that Clayderman handle most of the melody...

Still, Hungarian Dance 5 is my favorite, and this piece of Clayderman is not a bad one.

  • You can not deny Clayderman's contributoun, though.

  • Listen to Cziffra's you'll understand what music is about..and how to compensate the orchastra's advantages thanks to a fabulous technique and startling artistry..

  • What is WRONG with this!? Or better still, what ISN'T wrong with this!?

  • What exactly do you mean?

  • Abysmal.

  • i've heard this song before and no idea that it was a hungarian dance =]

  • Abysmal.

  • Nagyon szép. Én zongorán tanulom, négykezes darab formájában. De vonós hangszereken jobban hangzik

  • Gyönyörű!! :D Imádom! (L)

    Favorite!

  • i think i like the violins best...

  • his play has no skill ......

he is not a pianist but an entertainer

  • love it =D and richard clayderman is the best =)

  • Wow!

  • super.......

  • i like dis song.

  • wow he has cool hair

  • this bramhs, not clayderman. But the orchestra is amazing, aswell as the pianist =0

  • Clayderman is the pianist.

  • clayderman is a pianist who plays songs by other people

    he's AWESOME! =D

  • wich symphony is this?

  • It's not a symphony, it's Hungarian Dance 5 by Brahms

  • Whenever I hear the fourth movement from Mozart's 40th symphony, I think of this piece...

  • lol this is from Brahms, not clayderman. You have to change the title, this is a shame to compare brahms and clayderman !!

  • Well,I think what JorgeRCCP means in the title is that the song is Hungarian Dance Number five and that it's played by Richard Clayderman. Not that the piece is composed by him.

  • Excellent!!!!!!!!!!

  • Seems like the pianist is a little slow in relation to the orchestra most of the time... Or is that just me?

  • excelente

    que hermoso

  • Magnifica

  • _bRavo_

  • too much show in my eyes and ears!

  • Beautiful

  • Excellent!

  • świetne, piękne, bardzo dziękuję... :)

  • happy birthday RC

  • Arrgh, piano sound is way much too bright.

  • like he did not push the keys rather than only touched, excellent performance

  • excellent !

  • Seems kind of off-tempo, even though I know the real piece has a lot of tempo changes, it still sounds odd

  • Super!

  • Bravo!

  • this is really awsome it makes it feel like the music is alive

  • amazing

  • he has MASSIVE hands....

  • superb

  • correction: nothing here is a song. Especiall not a piano song.

No one is singing a lyric.

But it is a great piece of music!

  • excellent

  • cheezy cheezy cheezy

holy crap, when you thought rich clayderfuck couldn't mess the world of piano, he does it again

there's a piano 4 hands version, piano solo version, and an orchestra version.

why the hell does he make it a faux-concerto?

anybody with a degree on piano from a conservatoire can play his arrangement on a piano.

even better, anybody from a conservatoire can play it without the strings

  • Too true.

  • I agree that what Clayderman plays is much more simple than classical pieces, but what you will have to admit is that any world class pianist cannot play better than Clayderman, only at most as good as him, what makes the difference between rich Clayderman and POOR CONSERVATOIREFUCKS is that Clayderman is a better performer, I know you are just jealous, I used think like you 10 years before

  • I think his success is largely due to good business skills rather than good pianist skills. Most any qualified piano teacher could perform his music and you would not be able to tell the difference. However, you have to give him the credit for doing the work he has done in this genre and rearranging so many good pieces.

  • perfect!

  • Beautiful
