Friends, no more arguments about ones religion please. We are human beings who can think and act.
Millions of people around the world pray on this Thaipusam day. Its about Hindus religion and believes. We should respect our own and other religions too. All Gods irrelevant to religions teach us to respect other religions and to have a high moral values.
So, lets drop the arguments and lets learn the whole new and borderless culture thru openness of mind and heart.

I'd like to clear up one thing: thaipusam does not celebrate the birth of hindu god muruga, but celebrates the day he was presented his vel (trident) by the goddess parvati to defeat the demon surapadman
Worlds worst bleave and worst humen...110 % Satanic acts. May (swt) guide them to right way of life. They cant even hold them selfs to this worst punishments. in my view Sofisim is better then this evil acts.
Dudes we respect your religion and culture of the western world so please respect the Hindu's in they way of worship, this is a form of penance and worship in Hinduism and its not inviting demons into out bodies but the god himself its a form of holy worship you have your belief and we have ours so please be more respectful
Sorry if you felt that we were disrespectful. If you watch all of our videos you will find out that we are not. Everything we said in our naration was researched in full so maybe there is a mistake somewhere along the way but that does not mean that we disrespect your religion!
yes i agree with you. i felt that there was nothing wrong in what you guys said even tough i am a hindu myself. it is natural for westerners to e shocked cause its the first time your seeing the festival. but i found that you guys were respectfull and did a good job of filming.
Thanks vishwabhole! yes you are right, it was complete shock and sonly an obseravtion of what we thought at the time of filming. We think the religion is absolutely beautiful and have nothing but respect for it! Take care and we are glad you saw our point of view! :)
Hey!! Of course we remember you! I am glad you remembered us! Thanks for an unforgettable time in Melaaca! It is experiences like that which making travelling all worth while. We will definately be back! And eventually might edit a whole segment on the part with you!
was suppose to go in '07 to participate, unfortunately it did not happen, though, i have participated in similar ritual. i was really bummed as the butterflies in my stomach grew so strong as the time approached. some day.
y'know the difference between tourists and travellers? putting the camera away and taking part. it would not have been frowned upon for you to do so, the way you were told not to film multiple times.
This is a ancient Dravidian ritual n is unique 2 Tamils Hindus, particularly the sect worshipping Lord Murugan.(believed to b Tamil saviour God) This ancient ritual dates back 5000 yrs. Ancient Tamil literature f described this body peircing and frenzied dancing ritual.
Reason for piercing - only tongue piercing is believe to re-awaken the spiritual nerves. But now they pierce all over the body

limewirevampire 11 months ago
@limewirevampire the people who do the rituals are the ones that make a vow to the Gods. the other people who come there are there to pray.

It's called being demon possessed. They invite the demons into their bodies to control them, just have a look at their eyes and the way they move.

What some might call bizarre acts of devotion" ... You don't say.
Nearly as bizarre as Chad's hair in this clip. What's going on there Chad? Clayton will have to take you back to the Piss salon.
100% Independent, 100% Real. 100% Awesome clip gents.
