Google SketchUp Toolbar Series: Move

It's really confusing how sketchup determines which plane you're moving along. I don't get how with a mouse that only moves along one plane it someone tries to guess (often wrongly) which axis I'm moving in. Any insights anyone? How do you communicate 3 dementional movement with a mouse!?

As long as you click on the bottom corner you can move whole objects. De select/ select 'lines' of your object with the shift button, a little fiddly but it works with a bit of trial and error (ctrl z works to undo!)

Haha. I've spent 2 hours trying to "move" two objects right next to each other with no success. I'm laughing b/c I'm losing my mind.

@WolfH3 It wouldn't be so bad if they allowed the user to manually move the object with the keyboard. Something like Move-Tool + Arrow Keys = X Axis Fine Tuning, Move-Tool + Shift + Arrow Keys = Y Axis Fine Tuning, Move-Tool + Ctrl + Arrow Keys = Z Axis Fine Tuning.
