hi there, ive really considered getting a pendulum lately, but a friend of mine told me it can very danger with spirits and negative energy, what advice do you have?

@Jcarrier99 I have always held the intention that pendulum work is done directly with God (Source, Universal energy, whatever you like to call it) so I have not had adverse experiences with it. I would say it depends largely on the intention behind its use.

I want to know if a pendulum actually communicates with other beings that are hear to help us and guide us, or is the pendulum a way to simply contact another dimmension/energy form? Thanks,

@youarelovedSOmuch Not to sound like I'm giving a cop-out answer, but I would say it depends on what you believe. For me, pendulum usage accesses the highest part of my Self, allowing me to make choices and receive clarity without interference from my ego and conscious mind. For others, the experience may be vastly different.

Not sure if you use tarot cards I do and sometimes I feel like they get "tired" and don't want to be asked qs for awhile. Can a pendulum kind of get "tired" too?

@NorbieNDag what a great question. They can, yes. Fortunately, you can cleanse a pendulum then it's ready for action again. As simple as washing in warm water with gentle soap (like baby shampoo) or let it sit out in the moonlight.

Hi Amy! I was wondering, what is the best way to choose a pendulum? I've been looking at a bunch of web sites that sell them, but some sources say it is better to feel the energy of the pendulum before you guy it. So is it wise to buy a pendulum online or in person? and how do I know that I chose the right one for me?

@RagingSugarCandy what a great question! I would say it depends on you...some of us need to put our hands on something before we really feel connected to it, others can see it and know instantly. You can actually use a pendulum (even your temporary pendulum) to select a new pendulum. I use a copper pendulum and love it. I do wonder when I hear you have to clear. What that really means? I cleanse it with sage or water but I hear you have to clear yourself? Is that basic grounding or something else? For example, my friend holds it infront of her and says clear and it moves? What are your thoughts? Thanks.

@myhappyuniverse hi there! When I refer to "clearing," I am not talking about the pendulum itself, but rather, permanently dissolving doubts, fears, blocks, or limiting beliefs. That's what I do (and what I teach people to do) :-)

dose the pendulum get better(stronger) the more you use it. i noticed yours responded quickly and it looked like it had a lot of force behind it

@ultrawariorzero yes, it often swings more with practice. However, I have a very good friend who has used it for years and she gets fairly slight movements, which suits her just fine. If you want a big swing, just ask it to "swing big" ! :-)

Hi Amy. You responded earlier that you prefer to ask Spirit when asking questions. How do you actually phrase that when asking? Do you direct the question to angels, or spirit guides, or something else? Thanks.

@sweetnsassycat you know, I have seen people do this different ways. For me, I sort of just have a standing intention that I am requesting information directly from God. So whenever I use the pendulum, I just ask the question itself, always knowing the answer is coming from the highest/best possible place. I think that's easier than directing each specific question to a specific angel, entity, etc. But some people prefer (and get better results) directing their question someplace specific.

I get no result regardless of the question nothing happens i don't get to know even my own yes or no but i know i have a soul so whats going on there then?

usually when this happens, it indicates some resistance on the part of the user. Have you tried changing to a different pendulum? Sometimes that helps. Also try my video "how to use your body as a compass" as some people have better results with that method than with an actual pendulum.

@rohanno Well usually there is a certain pendulum for the individual if it doesn't work try a different pendulum.
