Hey dombatts: Check Aaron's stats. This year without S&T, he ranks 192 in the world and has won $550k in money with no wins, and 1 top ten in 13 events so far.
In 2007 with S&T, he won over $3,000,000, he WON a PGA tour event, he had 7 top tens, he made the cut in 19 out of 23 events, and he was ranked 18th in the world golf rankings = a whopping 174 places ahead of where he ranks now without S&T. Aaron needs to understand why he played so well, and go back to S&T.
The stack and tilt a measurement and study of the best swing movements the game of golf has ever known; B. Nelson, J. Miller, B. Hogan, Jack, Arnie, Sergio. Please before anyone attacks the efforts and years of analysis by these two very bright pros to advance the learning process of this great game, please know what the hell you're talking about. They never claim the movements need to by exact.
I've seen him play many times. He doesn't actually tilt near as much as he does in the Golf Digest article. Those are very exaggurated photos. It's more as if he just sets his weight more on his left side and turns around his spine which brings the club inside (he's really on plane) but right after transition he gets right back into a beautiful traditional delivery and believe me he can smash it and work it left, right, high, low, whatever. Doesn't hurt that he putts lights out either. Go Badds!
Don't believe everything you read!! Real, stack and tilt is when you load your left side on the backswing (spine tilts forward) hence the tilt in stack in tilt, Baddeley clearly doesn't do that.
SThistleton92, stack and tilt is not for everyone, i'm sure that you make plenty of money with your golf swing, and aaron baddeley, mike weir, will mackenzie and others make enough money with the stack and tilt. in golf, you go with what works, not what other people are doing.
It's not stack and tilt, where you load your left side on the backswing (R/H player) Baddeley rotates round centre while staying conected. NOT STACK AND TILT.
aaron baddeley DOES use the stack and tilt method, in fact last year there was a huge article in golf digest with the two teachers who started the stack and tilt and aaron baddeley was in it demonstrating all the aspects of the swing. look at his legwork on the backswing, it's easy to see that most, not all, but most of the weight is on his left leg.
SThistleton92 I am just wondering if you've ever seen baddeley hit a ball in person. When you make as much money as baddeley playing golf then you can say the stack and tilt sucks. I am sure your traditional swing is working out really well.
only reason why you are making fun of stack and tilt is because you dont understand it...once you do you will realize it is the most biomechanically efficent way to swing a golf club.
he does stack and tilt, the tilt part is when you tilt your upper body back to through impact, it's like standing up out of a chair. I like his old swing, he was the best iron player then, now he ranks almost last in every ball striking category but is the best putter on tour.
His stack and tilt swing was simple and easy to repeat. Even better it was fundamentally perfect! but maybe it just wasn't his style.
