The Voortrekker Monument displays the flags of most of the various Boer Republics. There were upwards of seventeen Boer Republics 5 of which coalesced into the ZAR / Transvaal Republic & the Orange Free State Republic both of which were internationally recognized by various other countries around the world. Then after the second Anglo-Boer War the Boer Republics were conquered & the concentration camps set up by Britain during the war killed off 50 % of the Boer child population.
