Get some more speed, 'cos you hit the mound. Don't get me wrong, it's good that you are doing these videos for new skiiers but you should concentrate more on nailing everything when making a tutorial :) Although, this is 4 years old video so you probably are better these days.
lol this guy completly tought me how to ski. i watched all these videos before i went skiing and i got no lessons and just by watching these videos and trying thing on my own i can ski wicked good now
im just going to ride away like i would any other forward landing trick? as oppsed to what? cause idk about anyone else but im only aware of one way to ride away from a forward landing trick...
allright so your gonna ride away so that its safe for everyone. take note that the snowboarder going off the rail in your safe zone might fall but thats okay because he isnt a skier
Whats with boarders wearing there pants like they would if they were jeans, makes them look like douch bags. Plus, its a sport so dress like it. I mean im a skier and i were board clothes but come on....
This is possibly the easiest trick to do off a kicker, anyone that can ride switch will nail this 1st time, second time at most. Much easier than a straight up 180.
they are awsome. they are a little bit fatter than park only skis to give you flotation on powder but they are still really good in the park. i have a video on my profile of me using them but its not in the park.
yea i go backwards all the time on them and turning is a little bit easier and mostly you feel way more like i guess secure because you dont have to worry about the flat ends sticking into something, especially when landing
@Mr1994z I don't really know which one's better but I use rossi S4 181cm and I love them so. I used to own softer skis so it's a bit of a change but if your comfy riding then i'd recommend them
baldwin: You should put your legs like infront of each other so that your shoulders and your torso are paralel whith the skis and u have to look backwards and then the turning will go by itself
i can ride regular and do normal 180s and 360s but i cant ride switch long enough to get to the jump and spin..and i cant really control myself when i ride switch any tips anyone???
When riding switch or starting out riding switch kind of get a gorilla stance going. legs evenly apart with your head over your left shoulder sort of hunched down. once you get past that you can eventually get yourself to ski the same way as if you were skiing reg.
basically what wallis said but also when you're riding switch, the shoulder that your looking over, that foot should be a little farther back. it allows you to see more
i can't do switch 180's....probably because i don't have freestyle skiis but totally different subject......why do i keep sliding out when i try to go sideways on a box? is it something to do with the spreading of my feet?
you're trying to carve on the box. it's natural. you gotta focus and keeping your skis flat and leaning forward enough that you stay centered over your skis.
levi's saggy pant collection 2007, im not sure if its the navy blue or the pacific ocean blue, probly the lame i dont know how to jump but i chill in the park blue
maybe set your self up switch so that you don't have to scissor your skis. you will have to ride switch longer. Thats awesome that you can ski with one leg, :-)
yea, some good brands are armada, now u can get em cheap cuz its summer, go too their website and u can see all their moddles, they have ratings for each ski, for example.
Man, so many park skiers really suck at explaining things. Being able to do something is great but it doesn't mean you should be teaching it. This guys explaination of what to do when you get to the lip is "you just pop". If he skied up to the lip and said "okay now is the time to 180" it would have been better explained.
You're right. He can ski, but can't teach for shit.
Most people who are starting out doing ski tricks will not go as "big" as this the first couple of times, so they WILL need to throw their arms or twist their legs in order to get all the way around.
If your switch shit off jumps are ending sketchy, it's probably because you aren't popping right. You have to spread your legs outward to get the pop going switch.
well there both hard well not hard 1080s r hard but these are different because switch off the jump mean going backward toward the jump but landing forward but normal is hard cuz then u have to mland backward which already gave me concusion
i recommend to start with normal 180, then learn to ski switch, then learn sw 180, i did just learn sw 180 and the landing and rotation is easier, but the jump is a little bitt harder...but im not pro so...
u can land backwards without twin tips u just gota learn forward ( A LITTLE BIT, NOT A LOT) although..if ur in really powder-y snow it won't work out too well). I ski on the east coast where its tightly packed groomed snow 95% of the time, landing backwards without twin tips aint the best idea but its possible
Why is everyone Abusing the messages on these videos. this guy is putting out lots of really good videos that help beginner freestylers to see what tricks look like and what they are called.

scouse142 2 years ago
depends if the snow is soft or hard.
And how you land if you land nicely without twin tips you're fine.
Twin tips just eliminate the fact of your skis digging into the back and they flex a bit more then normal skis.
