Looking forward to seeing her on dvd!!! :) I will always be biased towards sierra though because I saw her perform live and just completely love her voice, musical style and emotive performing in everything she does. She is truly inspirational to me. I think every actress brings new elements and angles to the character of Christine which keeps the musical fresh.
LOL kiddie phantom, thats the best word to describe Ramin. He's not convincing, but he's all over the place. Had a headache and sense of annoyance watching him stumbling all over the stage. JOJ is a way better phantom, for the London cast. Ben is the best and Anna is the best match. They're both brilliant.
When you disregard the story and just listen to Lord Webber's music you realize this may well be the most beautiful musical he ever wrote. The score begins as a deep aching pain and builds to a glorious triumph and concludes with love and redemption. So beautiful

Went to Sydney for the Premier on Thursday night. Amazing! The first half is totally amazing, nothing like all the reviews say it is! I cried all the way through it. Totally beautiful. Sets, music, cast, acting, singing, little Gustave. Going again it's so good. Just the sets alone deserve a showing of their own!!!. 10/10 from me!

I recently went to Melbourne to watch this show- some people say that they don't really like the music much, but I was awestruck. Actually, this musical made me cry! It was soooo sad and beautiful! I have seen a few big shows, but this is at the top of the list! :D
I like how the poms think the had the best cast..yet when Andrew Loyd Webber was at opening night in Melbourne he gave a speech and cried saying "this is how I imagined it to be"...hence why they are only filming aussie shows...Ramin has no stage presence all coz he is waaay to tiny to be a Phantom..he could maybe be a kiddie Phantom?

However,everyone has their own opinion on who has stage presence or not. But, calling Ramin a "kiddie phantom" on one video, saying he has no stage presence and is a bad phantom on a different one, and then calling ramin a "phantom for midgets" seems fairly rude to me.
@71whitey "tiny"? I guess you mean in weight since Ramin is 6 foot. that is not overly tall,but he is still taller than some phantoms (micheal crawford is 5'10)
@71whitey Ramin is NOTED as one of the greatest singers today, and won several awards for his stage presence and singing. The props and costumes are much better in the Melbourne production, but in my opinion, and several others, Ramin & Sierra are the perfect Phantom and Christine today. No doubt that the Aussie cast is phenomenal, there will always be a place in my heart for the OLC.
Her voice suits the role much better in my opinion than Sierra. A more mature and rounder sound is needed. If she is an established opera singer in the show, she should sound like an opera singer. Not that Sierra did a lowly job, she was fantastic. The costume is amazing by the way!
The production in Australia was actually stellar compared to the footage I have seen of the London/USA ones. Christine's dress in this LND performances is more beautiful than the one that Sierra wears.
Sierra is beautiful.... but Anna is equally good I find.
@Aussiestar123 Anna actually played Christine in our "Phantom of the Opera" production when it was brought back here a few years ago with Anthony Warlow :) And before that, Marina Prior had the role in the early 90's.
Anna is really good and adopts more of an opera singer's tone which is very suitable for an older Christine, but nobody can pull off the pure, natural and emotionally raw performance of Sierra. Her voice is perfect and she lives and breathes the role of Christine.

Sierra will always be my favourite for this song, but Anna is also VERY good! However I did not like Celia, but we all have our different opinions :)
I LOVE Ramin, But i cannot seem to like Ben. He seem abit cold to me, and I do not like his dark voice. But like i said, different opinions :)

I recently went to Melbourne to watch this show- some people say that they don't really like the music much, but I was awestruck. Actually, this musical made me cry! It was soooo sad and beautiful! I have seen a few big shows, but this is at the top of the list! :D

1. When the phantom of the opera was In Australia was Christine played by Sierra because I was quite young when I saw it and I don't remember
