  • Shut up George. Carl Perkins is playing.

  • hot! go cat go!

  • i didn't realize Mr. Perkins was such a guitar techie too...love the OG '50s stuff but WOW!

  • talent

  • In the set up to this piece, Perkins explains how not knowing about Les Paul's use of overdubbing in first hearing this song, he assumed that the only way to play it was to triple pick it.He goes on to present this as his imitation of Les Paul.. This remains a phenominal example of Perkins' prowess on guitar, easily placing him on the same level as Scotty Moore,Cliff Gallup,Paul Burleson,Chet Atkins and quite possibly,Les himself ..............

  • @thevidiotkid i agree to the point where you make out les paul is better than chet!

  • brilliant!

  • AMAZING!

  • I would say that most folks had no idea how truly talented Carl was as a guitarist. But those of us from his hometown of Jackson, TN sure knew! I mean, how good do you have to be to school George Harrison? RIP Carl. We lost a giant when we lost you...

  • Carl was one of Harrison's and The Beatles heroes.

This was Carl's gig, he coaxed Harrison into coming. George had trepidation about performing before a live audience after not doing so for so long.

  • @zthetha carl was the king of rockabilly guitar to awesome

  • 2 greats. Now thats MUSIC!!!

  • Rest in peace George, Carl, and now Les....all gone. When Kieth Richards, and Bob Dylan leave us....I'm going with them, and leave this world, and this era's shit music.

  • woo george harrison and carl together

  • R.I.P Les Paul.

  • seguro que los tres estan tocando este tema juntos.descanse en paz les paul.

  • I think it is awesome that someone as HUGE as George Harrison would pay such a well deserved tribute to one of his idols - Mr. Carl Perkins.

The influence really shows in many of Georges recordings.

  • Look at Georges face @ 0.35....He is thinking; "How in the hell is he doing that...?!!"

    GREAT !!

  • Hey! That's George Harrison banging on the guitar and singing along slightly!

  • Incredible.

  • Carl may be gone, but his music - like this - lives on. I love this version.

  • Master Carl Perkins... RIP

  • SICK

  • marcel dadi is the innovator of picking guitar ??

  • nah there sure were loads of people before him

  • Chet was the first to have big success with this kind of playing
