  • there must be a animal right! they cant speak for themselves which means that it's upon us to help them. pandas are endangered. i mean that even if they were not endangered then we shouldn't be hurting them cuz if this goes on there will be nothing but only human race in the world in the near future, living in a lifeless world :(

  • This is heart breaking and a real tear jerker. Shame on YongBa's zoo keepers!

  • It's sad that pandas are raised in China...a country famous for cruelty...for animals AND human.

  • @PandaH8R you are heartless!

  • The Aztecs would HATE YOU!

  • No panda is pathetic, in my opinion. They are divine and that's all.

  • @merkurana

    Your opinion is false.

  • @ROBLOXingHabbo :D I wish I cared enough to waste my time writing such responses :D The thing is that every opinion is subjective, so there's no point in discussing whether my opinion is false as well as whether your opinion on my opinion is false.

  • In the PRC, if you kill a panda, you get the death penalty. The guys who take care of Yongba better watch it.

  • That is awful living conditions! Poor YongBa! Our hearts bleed for you!

  • It makes me angry to see animals suffering because of the mistreatment of bad people. thank you so much for keeping us informed.

  • Tx, lupoforme.

We might not be capable of doing anything significant for Yongba's generation of animals in Chinese zoos.

But we can certainly hope that Fu Long and Yang Yang will not run into the same destiny when they reach Yongba's age.

    Please pray for their future.

  • see videos from "yongbafamily" thank you

  • i just watched them. Tx for the good work.

Look at her tummy! OMG! Can't believe what those Wolong "experts" are saying.

I guess she'll be considered "fine" as long as she's not "dead." Even if she's indeed frozen-dead-beyond-recall, they'll still come up with dozens of reasons to convince us that it's only normal and expected!

Who are we to challenge the Authority of Wolong experts?!

It's too easy for them to mislead the public with facts or stories or a combination of both.

  • Pandas belong to every chinese people , not belong to any organizations, Organization is just working on the panda project, but that does not mean they can do whatever they want to pandas, we want to give Yongba better life, if goverment not pay her life, we pay. nobody can stop us, Yongba belongs to every chinese people,

  • I think taking responsibility for pandas' well-being is EVERY panda lover's job, regardless of nationality. What's important is the LOVE in our hearts, not colors or races.

Pandas are not our pets. They're nature's babies. We only happen to share the same space with them. They're our "neighbours". We're learning to help our neighbours as we help ourselves.

  • Ahhh Now your story changes : ) 'yongbafamily' now you specifically lay claim for the Chinese by saying "Pandas belong to every chinese people" and yet you appeal to the world for more help so that only China profits.

I agree with 'ethystethyst' and say Pandas ARE "nature's babies". Moreover Pandas are a global gift as are the Bamboo Forests in which they live naturally.

It is true GIANT PANDA WELFARE is a global concern having litlle to do with nationality because PEOPLE CARE GLOBALLY

  • Tk u.

No animal should be monopolized by humans of any nation! Pandas have suffered enough as "ambassadors" for people over the past decades!

Institutions such as the Wolong center are capitalizing on the pandas in the name of "conservation".

Wolong is a celebrated "panda factory", creating problems for the future generation who will be forced to deal with the growing population of captive pandas.

Being dumped in irresponsible zoos is the destiny of most, if not all, aging pandas.

  • thank you for seeing my comment! ...and acknowledging : )

I really agree that Pandas are 'natures babies' and as such their proper home is in 'the wild'. Protecting the panda's natural home environment is, of course, the most reasonable course to take in being responsible stewards of our planet.

I'm sure that the work in Wolong has some focus on the healthy welfare of the Pandas. Yet the primary focus seems to be tourist (dollars) currency.

  • I have been to some really wonderfully educationally focused zoos however I prefer to see animals in the wild and when the animal presents itself to me : )

  • thanks, yongbafamily. i cried when i started reading yongba's story and being abused.

thank you for visiting her and keep us updated. i hope yongba will be sent back to sichuan to live happily for the rest of her life.

  • Thank you for you concern.

Pandas belong to every people who loves them , not belong to any organizations, Organization is just working on the panda project, but that does not mean they can do whatever they want to pandas, we want to give Yongba better life, if goverment not pay her life, we pay. nobody can stop us, Yongba belongs to every people who loves her. thank you.

  • I'm reading your replies 'yongbafamily' and I've read twice in this video commentary "Yongba belongs to every people who loves her. thank you." ...Yet China has claimed exclusive rights to Pandas globally as I understand the Panda situation among the international Zoos : )

  • I think the number of panda babies being produced each year at the Wolong Panda Reserve needs to be monitored too, at least until this insitution can come up with a plan to accommodate the the aging panda population as well.

Wolong Reserve has invested too much into their vigorous breeding program. It's not until now that people begin to ponder the possible long-term ramifications.

Pandas are not stuffed toys - once useless, discard them to the Salvation Army Thrift Stores [=ZOOS]!

  • I have emailed Pandas International and alerted some Panda groups here in the US. I found a website with her story posted and telephone numbers to call. I can't afford international dialing so, any email addresses you could give us would help. We have many people who's voices want to be heard. This zoo has been in trouble before so someone should be watching them. Yongba should be living with dignity not like this. Thank you!

  • thank you for your concern, i will try to find some useful telephone number and mail address ,and i will open it to public.

Pandas are gift, they belong to every people on earth, not belong to any organizations, Organization is just working on the panda project, but that does not mean they can do whatever they want to pandas, we want to give Yongba better life, if goverment not pay her life, we pay. nobody can stop us, Yongba belongs to every people who loves her. thanks a lot for your concern.

  • Hi nodonjuan,

    Tx for taking action.

I think i'll do the same for Yongba if only i know who to write to.

    Pls. post the links here.

I'm not familiar with the Chinese system and their inner-workings. Don't know which institution is responsible for zoo-related complains or whether it exists or not.

I only hope to draw people's attention to this matter, so that the right person will emerge eventually.

  • Bravo!

  • Thanks for your videos and information. Thats heartbreaking.

  • Thank you for uploanding the video. Mistreating animals is such a cruelty. They are helpless and cant fight back. Especially in Zoos they depend on humans.

  • I started back at 630pm. it was dark outside, all animals in the zoo screamed at that time, I think I am walking in the forest of south africa

I take some video and pictures. I will put on youtube later.

  • When I was about to leave at 6.20pm, she was eating bamboo in her small cabinet with the light on and the outside started getting dark.

She looks lonely and unhappyThe panda living room seems newly cleaned and the worker put some red-heart pictures on the wall to make dicretion , and nobody let her take pictures yesterday. I think it is the result from government official investigation. She seemed have lots to eat yeasterday. I think that benefits from the zoos being accused of panda abuse.

  • Yesterday I went the zoo to see Yongba, she still goes to hit the door every few minutes, she pooped three times from about 1:10 pm to 2.10pm. the first and the third time she pooped something like water, and the second time, she pooped something solid and something water that mixed. She is released to the outside from about 2.30pm -4.30pm, and the rest of time she is confined and keeps hiting door. .

  • Is she OK now?
