  • i got a 2006 f250 6.0 and really no bolt ons but the only problem i has was with a abs wire falling off and then the check engine light came on but i just unplugged the battery for a few minuites and it went away and nothing happened since they are great trucks

  • hey i thought i would ask you this since you own a 6.0. i heard theres a bad reputation with them with reliability from 2003-2005. can you give me your personal opinions of the 6.0 and have you gone through any reliability issues.

  • @atvman1000 if you take care of the truck like the owners manual says you most likely have good luck. read this forum post and you will understand better what to look for.....

  • @javojjaaf exactly and if you put like a chip or banks on it screws up the egr valves and you will have to replace them every like 50k miles if you have a chip and aftermarket exaust but stock 6.0's are very power full my 2006 f250 stock out runs 1990's v6 mustangs no problem

  • @manisdrillingcompany i was trying to spool the turbo for the launch, but the road was a little wet and i spun the tires. so i had to launch without boost

  • @javojjaaf okay thanks partner i have the same truck with a 6.0 but for some reason with mine when i give it hell at at 0 mph the rpms start then stay at about 2700 and and the truck will stay at 20mph for about 4 second then it shifts to second gear but mine is slow i will hit the pedal hard and then floor it and it wont spin the tires but that happenes what do u think could be wrong with it

  • yea fords are the best, the durimax ant to bad and 10 grand cheaper than f250 and dodge is just shitty as hell and like 25 grand cheaper, my dad has a 2006 6.0 powerstoke f250 turbo deasel and it had 3 miles one it and it was 49 thousand

  • My dads first 04 f250 had a absolutely great turbo whistle and got 16.5mpg bone stock. That one burned in the driver due to engine block heater and the one he bought now has a 4inch lift and a k&n air intake and gets 13.5mpg. Barely hear the turbo too. When its put to the floor, turbo lags a huge amount and blows white smoke at 3k rpm going very slow, when it shifts into second turbo kicks in big time. I thought it was a rusty turbo but could it just be the program?

  • my 2007 6.0l 4x4 crew lariat ran 9.41 1/8 at 71mph with a 1.81 60ft stock except for edge juice with attitude platinum with very moderate settings and am getting almost 20mpg

  • I am so tired of listening to people bitch about things they know nothing about. I am a die hard ford nut and master technician. The 6.0 is an awesome engine. Its weak link is the lack of enough head bolts. This was a design change by international. However if u keep the egts in a reasonable area with a chip u wont have any problems. if u want u can install a set of ARP studs and oring the heads and then u have a nasty untouchable rocket.

  • Completely agree! Just bought a '03 F-250 6.0L 5R110 auto. If you know what your doing the 6.0L is a rocket for sure!!! The "Powerstrokehelp" youtube channel is great for info also.

  • *Lack of head studs. As well as the switch to the 8 vane sticking turbo, the egr system. Otherwise these trucks are completely ill!! The transmission is untouchable, check my video!

  • The entire egr system is crap, but I love the motor, Our 04 F450 stake bed has 224,054, and has only had head studs, and 07 egr pipe and turbo, and runs like a champ

  • i agree, i am Chevrolet guy through and through, but i have always had a soft spot in my heart for ford, and it pisses me off when posers try to act like they know something about it when the simple fact is. they don't and are probably lucky if they can change the oil, i am only 16 so i am not one to talk but i can tear down a 305 and rebuild it in about 3 days. with the right tools, i hate having the wrong tool for the right job. anyway peace, and great truck.

  • I don't know why everyone says that the 6.0 is junk. Its so much faster than the 7.3, has more power, uses less diesel, and is lighter.

  • they discontinued the 7.3 in late 03 they had 7.3 in the early 03's then they put the 6.0' in the late 03's but by 04 they were all 6.0l but since it was custom ordered it might have one in it

  • early 2003 was the last time they ever put a 7.3L diesel in ford trucks

  • when he lets off the gas the speed is still at 60....even if the tires spun at takeoff

  • now lets see that in the daytime with the scenery going by.. easy to move the speedo that fast when the tires are spinning...

    but if it legit i'm sure you can back it up. look forward to seeing it. and yes, with over 600RWHP i know what a fast 6.0 will do :)
