i like drew, but you have to understand that when you whatch something(ANYTHING) for like 20 some odd years you really really get attached to a person. The only reason i watch(still watch)regis and kelly(now just KELLY)is kelly was gradually brought in on the fans!!! Good Luck to drew though, may he get a following also.
@Alexking99 - Yes, on-stage contestants always sit down there before going to the Big Wheel. I've seen after the first PG (with Drew hosting) where they say bring the next contestant right down; you can tell there's a tape stop every time the contestant magically shows up in that area within five seconds.
The light colors for the One-Bid podiums reverted back to normal colors, but it still uses the LCD Displays for Season 38. They must behave appropriately as the old displays before.
@directorbeau Are you kidding? Drew gets excited for the contestants when they win. You may not see it, but I can and I'm sure a lot of other people can. Watch what happens when a contestant wins? Drew is excited and happy for the contestant.
Well Drew may not be Bob... but he is loveable, hugable, and wants to make people happy, and that's just as good any day... beside sI can't think of anyone else more deserving
I totally agree moon. Drew has grown alot and I have began to love him on the show. He gets more excited sometimes than the contestants do. ESPECIALLY on the Million Dollar Spectaculars
The day of his final airing, I long vowed NEVER to watch an episode with Drew. I figured I'll watch "Deal Or No Deal." When "Deal" got out, I figured I was done with something I loved doing since I was a kid. I won't watch "Price," "Wheel," or "Jeopardy!"
@carchavtube I agree completely. I mean I still watch, only because it's the show that gave me a passion for math, and being as good as I am in it today. But I don't think its Drew ruining the show. I personally think its Mike Richards, and him wanting to make it more like "Who's Line is it Anyway?". That's pissing me off more then anything..
@retroguy1976 Well did you expect it to be the same way with Drew? I don't think anybody did. Besides, I like Drew, I think he is doing a good job on the show.
It's the beginning of the end for Bob's career here. The confetti was appropriate to have thrown by the audience to comemorate the celebration, the excitement and the potential emotion that maybe taking place on the stage. I'm guessing that the line was 3 miles long for this episode. She played Lucky 7 well and great bearing the difficulty that game posses. Phillip is a dedicated fan like the rest of us who will stop at nothing to se Bob. Kristin may do well here but we'll see.
i dont know if anyone eles caught it but at 1:33 bob got really choked up right before the "welcome" but it was so quick ...you had to pay attention..it just show what kind of pro bob barker was
Sounds like the legend Johnny Olsen took over Rich Field's body for a moment when introducing Bob. MY GOD that was stirring! The regular TPIR intro was always larger than life, so the heart-filled Rich made me lose it.
The only negative thing about this show was that Fremantle producers or execs didn't symbolically cut back ad time or schedule quicker games *just for this one show* so that he could have interacted more with the audience. After all, THAT is what made him famous to begin with.
drew carey is good. he puts a new spin on things on the show. he will never replace bob barker. but one day we will miss him too. give him a chance!!!
You gotta love Rich's announcing when special events like this occur. He puts everything he has into everything he says. Don't get me wrong, he's a good announcer day in and day out, but i love when an announcer uses so much enthusiasm like in this video.

Drew Carey isn't a very good host for this show... heck, I've been told I'd be a better host. At least I've watched the show since I was 5 (I'm 37 now).
I can understand Prototype8907's comment in general. Although the Drew Carey version still seems a little weird to me right now, I started watching TPiR in the early 80's and clips of those episodes with Bob's dark hair seem weird to me.

I never really liked B Barker. He wasn't that funny and overall was a generic personality, but he was and will be always be the TPIR. Drew isn't bad, but he doesnt even come close to touching Bob.
I used to watch the show with my grandparents when I was young. The Chevorlet Corvette reminds me of something my grandma had said. There was a college student playing a game in which the prize was a 2-seater car. She told me that the car was a good prize for him because he could use it to bring girls around. My grandma said she hoped that would be me someday.
i wish they kept this set because the shape of the doors is what i loved the best since i was first watching tpir, then i started liking the turntables and i also wished he came through the audience for his final enterance and i also wished plinko was better on this episode

Bob Barker is one of my favorite people that I have known for 20 years,I will miss him very much,I can't wait to see Drew Carey do the show, I think he will have alot of fun
Yes, you saw Bob's very first entrance on this episode's first prize. Here's another piece of trivia: "Any Number" was the very first pricing game played in 1972 AND the last game played on this show!
It was revealed on Entertainment Tonight that if a proper replacement hasn't been found, he would be willing to return for a portion of the 36th season
Now that Drew has been announced, I hope Bob returns for some prime time specials or something. He IS the price is right. Im willing to give Drew a chance. He seems like a nice guy.
