wow these things are such a waste of money. Buy a god damned netbook. The fastest netbooks are less than a quarter the price of a macbook air. Even if you include an external dvdrom, ram upgrade, and ssd. plus they're even more portable (the 9 hour battery life on my toshiba nb205 has saved my ass multiple times :P)

Theres something VERY important to most ppl, that was NOT taken into account. Durability. Both apple & lenovo/IBM computers are VERY durable... but I'd say, Lenovos outstanding technology (including hard drive protection [even if SSD's dont actually need it], RollCage, and fluid drain.... ) PLUS an INTERNAL DVD+/-RW drive...

Id say Lenovo is a true winner... Not in 'ultra portable" cat. only....
