thanks you for taking the time to make this video. you saved me the trouble and the money i would of wasted. now i will definitely buy a diffferent one.did you buy another case?if so what would you recommend.
I wasn't able to open my macbook pro open all the way (past 90 degrees) the first time I installed it, but after taking it off because it needed cleaned, I put the case back on and now I'm able to open it all the way. I'm not sure what I did different the second time I installed it, but I'm now able to open up much farther (as if I don't have a case on it). I have the new Macbook Pro 15" (released this year). Anyhow...thought I'd share.
For Some Reason, My MacBook Can Only Open Up To 90 Degrees It Doesn't Go Farther, So The Farthest It Goes Is Like An "L", Please Tell Me What I Did Wrong Thanks! =)
I had the issue that the tech support told you. I know when I first put it on I didnt put the bottom on correctly. You have to put the back part of the case on before you put on the front, otherwise it doesn't quite fit. As soon as I redid it, it worked great and I get the full angle :) I love mine, I have the plum one and I have no complaints!
my one gripe about the case is that the apple logo does not exactly touch hardcase screen shel, so when it lights up, it tends to be just a tad unfocused. does that happen to yours?
i just bought the incase hardshell frost for my macbook pro 15'' and i can get around 125 degrees clearance when i measured from my protractor. thats weird how they might have different angles for different colors.
I've been hesitant to buy this case because of this very issue. But I wanted to ask you, do you think taking a dremel to the rear of the case is possible to grind some of it down so you can get a little more clearance? I realize one shouldn't have to do that, and this is a design flaw, but I was wondering if that would work or if it would crack or have some other detrimental effect.
it's actually been OK with no modification, although I was thinking about doing exactly what you mentioned. My problem is that I would never get the "grind" even and it would bother me forever. But like I said, it has been pretty good and it's just too cool looking to return. I can open it just enough past 90 degrees.
Thanks for the quick reply. I know what you mean about the evenness, but I'm very hard on this laptop. I'm on my second MBP due to the NVIDIA chip problem, and Apple started to blame my video errors on abuse due to the dents on every corner and sides of the casing. I've got a couple dents in the new one already, so I need to wrap this. But I work with this on my lap quite a bit and I'm worried about the angle issue. I think I'm gonna try it anyway. Thanks again.
