  • Drake23, you know the crambled eggs you eat daily....it's as pink as your mom's glit. LOL....

  • @captfalconXX

it's ok not like ur like mama's elephant trunk

  • Comment removed

  • everybody is so freaking stupid

    wushu

is nothing that u retarted can insult of

  • wushu is pretty ^^

  • martial arts actually originated in russia.. from systema

  • Those hands at 03:02 - 03:04 can pwn ur ass

  • who's the girl with the pink costume after the guy with the white costume?

  • This is so obviously propaganda!!! I can't believe anyone would fall for this. With all the smiling Chinese people at the end. ridiculous

The Chinese government is REALLY desperate for making such an obvious propaganda video.

I love the traditional China but modern wushu doesn't even come close to traditional kung fu. Look at all the useless ineffective movements. Somersaults, back-flips and other showy moves. No wonder people think its a joke. Then look at traditional kung fu. I rest my case.

  • You don't even ned to look that far. Look at wushu from the 70's and 80's when the athletes trained in traditional styles alongside their competition forms. It was such a unique sport, completely unquantifiable and they have butchered it to the point that it has become a mixture of figure skating and gymnastics, but with lower quality movements! What's the point? Why lower the quality of something just to make it Olympic ready? It was so good without the need to be an Olympic sport.

  • @Happyanand69 hey man who like to get the happy ending with the position of 69!

what make u think chinese people's smile is ridiculous? useless ineffective movement? Can i ask u a question. d u do anykind of martial art? and d u understand martial art? then please don't say anything that u don't know.

i bet u r not chinese . can u explain why thoes movements are useleess?

everthing have to improve. yes may b people think it's a joke cos they r not in the lane.

  • @Drake23thein ; I love Chinese people. I love Chinese history, art and philosophy. And I love Traditional Kung Fu. But what I don't love is the Chinese Government; They banned all the greatest martial artists and then try to cover it up by hiring GYMNASTS and creating this fake martial art called ''Wushu''. They used Wushu because they couldn't use kung fu, because this isn't kung fu. It's gymnastics! This whole video is propaganda. Can't you see that? You must be blind.

  • @Anandfulness

    M I blind or r u stupid?

what is wushu and what is kung fu?

    d u understand>?

man u don't even understand what that two mean and why don't u just shut up?

i m tired of explaining what is the meaning of these two to jerk like u

politic is politic and martial art is martial art

i m chinese and i dont know what the present goverment is doing in china and i don't care. cos i wasn't born in china.

  • @Drake23thein ; Then you are part of the propaganda-machine? Interesting. I understand why you're doing this. Off course you cannot say what you want to. Wushu is not the real kung fu in my eyes. Even the current day Shaoling is just a lie. It's propaganda. Used to bring people to china. The soft power. You know what soft political power is? Soft political power is that you make your country attractive to others so they won't think badly of you. Too bad that I can see through their lies.

  • @Anandfulness

    Uhhhh

there is soooooo many freaking jerk like u

tell me if the shoalin is a lie and what is real?

wushu is not real kung fu in ur eyes>

    who r u?

    master?

ok if u r online tell me what is the meaning of wushu and kungfu ?

if u can explain make me satisfiied i will shut up if not u shut up

  • @Drake23thein ; Any martial art that has somersaults, butterfly kicks and any other acrobatic jumps is a LIE

Any martial art that focuses more on forms than on application is a LIE

Any martial art that doesn't have full-contact sparring (with or without protection) is a LIE

Any martial art that is created by the Communist Chinese Government is a LIE.

True kung fu is traditional kung fu. Bak Mei, Bagua Zhang, Wing Chun, Mei Hua Quan, and so forth. Those are the real deadly styles!

  • @Anandfulness

kung fu= 工夫 that doesn't mean martial art in chinese

wushu = 武术 that mean martial art

u know what u r stupid jerk that doesn't understand any chinese letter

shame on u for being a jerk

    LOL

    don't pretend u understand

  • @Anandfulness

    what a jerk

u dnt even have ur profile on

    狗嘴里吐不出象牙来

  • @Drake23thein : Go do some gymnastics like butterfly kick.

  • @Anandfulness funny you should mention the form vs application. Most Chinese martial arts stressed form extremely extensively. Back in the day when kung fu was a way of life and nothing else really mattered, the students would spend years on stances alone (ironhorse, for example) This taught discipline which was paramount to the Chinese masters. Another example: Taekkyeon, one of the oldest martial arts in Korea, looks almost like a dance and incorporates jumping kicks.

  • @RadiantAce : Application of the art is one of the most important things in martial arts. It's the ''Martial'' in martial art. Otherwise you would be practicing a performance art. Like you say, then it looks like a dance, which is RIDICULOUS.

Sparring is equally important. It leads to a better understanding of what ''fighting'' is.

Forms are just forms. But forms are not the goal. Formlessness is the goal. Focus too much on forms and you are living a lie.

  • @Anandfulness by your opinions, I'm surprised you didn't mention Jeet Kun Do as one of your 'real martial arts' it almost feels as though i'm talking with Bruce Lee himself :P And actually, i agree with you, if we're talking strictly combative. But the Chinese, Japanese, Koreans etc etc all used their 'martial' arts for more than just combat and self defence. To them, it was an art, exercise, discipline training, focus training. Their martial arts meant so much more to them than just fighting.

  • @Anandfulness

then shut up from now on u stupid westerner

  • wushu owns your ass.

they train in practical combat maneuvers and impractical maneuvers that require more conditioning. don't be jealous just because they can do more than you can.

  • @jakeisawesome91

lol, they'll out dance you, out fight you AND they can deffinately out math you

  • @ SUPERHEL- 'your mum borned you as shit' XD

  • ur mum is shit, so are you

  • your mum borned you as a shit!

  • Cool story bro. You came all the way here on the interwebz just to say that?

Keep crying, I think someone might start to care.

  • @superhel

    u stupid fat ass

    wing tsun came from wushu

  • @Drake23thein

    but Wushu FAILED!

  • the music is so cheesy...I hope these commies realize that this crap doesn't work on those who aren't ruled by big brother.

  • @ihaterobbie123

that's why im pumpin out my own beats, and yes, any dance beat set to 4/4, 8/8, 16/16 rhythm will match up with wushu, and almost any other martial art for that matter (wushu's just pimp) try it, it makes for some damn good music vids :D

  • sigh.. im scared of the actual martial art of fighting dieing out in wushu. its just turning more and more into a dance and acrobatics =/

  • WTF!

  • World Taekwondo Federation.

  • aagag

  • the contempory forms u c in competiton was designed for performances but how ever just cuz those forms r ment for performance doesnt mean wushu ppl dun train to fight it all depends on the skool really i know wushu skools taht dun teahc u how to fight n i knew wushu skool that foucses heavily on fighting

  • No... you have it wrong.

They practice the arts for demo, because they are usually Buddhist and therefore peaceful people.

But they do train for fighting too.. the reason it looks flashy is because they are using the flashy moves for demo.

They are fully capable of kicking ass.

For example, to be TKD blackbelt it is required for you to be able 540 roundhouse. But they never use it in a fight, but what they do use in a fight.. hurts. alot.

  • how do u know that they are ussualy buddhists? they are not monks form shaolin, they are athletes and they performs modern wu shu what is not for fighting. For fighting is traditional wu shu (better known as kung fu, however kung fu means every thing what need hard work and long time), traditional kung fu is for example: watch?v=oXBLeSjBsnQ&feature=related

  • @felthrian ;

Sure, they see some practical applications..But that's not the focus.

The real roots of wushu lie in the modern communist China. They created this after they killed or deported all the real traditional sifus. Wushu is just a flashy mix between all sorts of martial arts and gymnastics. Put these people in front of a serious traditional student and their weaknesses will show immediately. It's basically propaganda and show. Ask any real sifu. It's just a charade, a nice one though.

  • @Happyanand69

the ''real'' roots lie in the martial arts practiced by the kingdoms of china, which semi combined when china was united, and have since semi declined thanks to our old buddy mao, but the roots are nevertheless found in old, traditional family teachings, and unlike the japanese arts, they cant be termed under anything specific (ie ju-jitsu, karate, aikido)

each one is simply a different style, a different art, and they are ALL called wushu, or kung fu if you're american :P

  • Comment removed

  • @TheLibertard

    who say that?

  • Yes but, what if you can't see what is coming against you?

  • yeah but everyone on fight science were different weights. so there fore it doesn't prove anything. the boxing guy was the most heavy thus he punched the strongest. was still interesting to watch though

  • That's true plus they were testing on there for a supposed mythical "1 punch KO" you don't in fact need to generate the amount of force the boxer exerted to KO someone, you just need to know where to hit them. The punch delivered by the "kung fu" guy in it was more than enough force to close somebody's windpipe, or the carotid artery long enough to cause a KO, would still give GB20 a miss though tends to kill more than KO lol.

  • omg i dont want to fight against anyone of them

  • Tang Soo Do i s beter from Wushu

  • the best Chinese matial artist I see often start when they are 5, or 6, something like that, scary training, but tough bad ass

  • I started Wushu when I was 15. I wasn't the youngest, neither the oldest. I believe I can make it even so :) And there's a way. Just focus on a single move or bad habit per week or up to a month and you'll master it. You need lots and lots of patience for this however. :D So Jia You!!! Jesus ^_^

  • Wushu in translation means "Warriors technique". (I practice Kung fu Wu Shu) And no, it's not a dance (thou a well trained master looks like she/he is dancing). It consists of many fighting stiles. It's a very "large" martial art. You could see it as a mix of almost ALL other martial arts. It is one of the oldest so that many other martial art styles ware developed from it. It's always expanding and growing, by it becoming more popular in the world.

  • How easily people will lash out against what they do not or can not comprehend. I wish all the internet tough guys would get over the fact that millions of people study thousands of styles of martial arts and many of those styles actually can serve as defensive styles in a street situation. No one art dominates all others, no one person will beat all others. We train how we feel we need to, let it be just that.

  • wushu is a kind of dance and karate is just a made up martial art well techecly its a modern art the more older forms of martial arts are like dances wushu , tai chi , shaolin king fu there all like dances

  • Err, it was designed as a form of meditation. The art that is some what like dancing is the brazilian art, Capoeira, and when they practiced it, it was done in a circle while there were music playing. I think there was something to do about slaves to. As for Karate, it's just branched off of Kung Fu, like many many many other arts that are out there. *Shrugs*

  • @ARRAGORN306

u know karate came from shaolin?

    dump ass

  • If you face a guy who does that your screwed :s

  • Is it possible for an American to learn Wushu? I want to learn it, but it might be too late for me...

  • Yes, it is possible, just search for a Kung-Fu Academy wich teacthes Wushu,, and ever is too late =D

  • Well, it's never too late to try. The hope is what leaves first, not the opportunity. Dedication my man, dedication.

  • It's never too late trust me... We have a 70 year old guy in our club, he just started cause hes doctor recommended sports, or recreation. He's doing really good. As well as the rest of the students... ;P

  • well u can definetly do it 4 health but to gain extreme skils u need to do it as young as possible

  • Well that's not true. To reach your peak in Kung fu skills you have to train hard. Of course it's true that youth and "talent", have their advantages but eventually it all comes down to one thing... HARD WORK! Nothing but that can help u reach "extreme skills"... And u can reach them no matter when (considering that u have a really good health condition). No offense to anyone, but the dumbest thing u can do in a fight, is to underestimate someone because of their age and training time.

  • well lets say u start training at 30 n another guy started training when he was 5 well then u just wasted 25 years point is if u want ot be better than certain people u also u need to train longer than them if both fo u r training at the same level but the otehr guy trained way earlier than u ur disadvantaged

  • But that doesn't mean that u are unable to become as strong as that "guy" by the time u confront him. Let's say that your 30 year old is now 45 and and a 5 year old is 20. Now tell me do u REALLY think that any of them has the advantage in any way, if they were facing each other?

  • the real question is wat if ur both 45 n he trained for 40 years while u only trianed for 15

  • Well then let me answer that for u... If he trained hard and worked hard on hes skills, there is no reason that he should be in a disadvantage.Yes it's true that the knowledge of more experienced fighter is bigger, but u the other fighter is able to use what he has in a right way he can win easily.

If your claim was true then a student would never be able to surpass a teacher. And u can't say that u never saw it happen.15 years is more then enough to become a master, if u dedicate yourself to it.

  • but u cant just expect urself to be the 1 training the hardest thats just wishful thinking there r countless ppl training hard n even harder than u everyone will get surpassed eventually when age catches up with em if u want to do things u gota do it young dun waste 2 many years n start things when ur old im speaking from a perfectionist perspective even the masters ive talked to agreed if u want to gain extreme skills u need to start young starting old severely handicaps u

  • I never said there isn't a handicap, but it's not true that u can't overcome it.

  • yea u can overcome it but then there r ppl that r tryin to overcome u if ur competing with urself thats great im pretty sure ne1 can accomplish that with the right mindset but if u competing against sum1 else sumtimes they r just better than u n that age factor can be that deciding factor

  • It CAN be... But it doesn't have to be. In the end it all comes down to ur work and ability to understand the martial art itself. The fact that u are older or younger doesn't have to bring you any advantages or disadvantages. I don't know are u aware of it but kung fu doesn't set so many boundaries between ages and sexes. They do exist, but original spirit of kung fu stands behind equality. Teaching u to never underestimate others no matter how different they are. Because u never know...

  • Excatly it's a rather a dance, than a Martial Art!

  • Good for one thing the dance show So u think u can dance.

    Wing chun rules.

  • i dont think u guys reserve to get a minus (thumbs down) ure actualy right at one thing that wushu is more used at competitions and used in olympics. Kung fu like wing chun is more used in fight, wing chun is one of most effective kung fu

  • wow

  • super filmik, wspaniala sztuka walki :D

  • yes they want to put wushu into olympics because it is a sport not kung fu if you want to do a chinese sport do wushu if you want to learn tradionational chinese martial fighting learn kung fu

  • i remember the olympics i was one of the thousands but i was picked out in the the begining because of my duilian when i was a teen yeah china uses teens for olympics so what chinese pride

  • Never type after 2 six packs! Happy New Year People

    ---

well, you see someone "jacking off" a stick because it's what you want to see. I'd like to see you do anything close to what those guys are doing. Much respect to other forms of discipline out there, but seriously do we learn or find out about these things just so we can bash other disciplines we don't agree with... This is a new low.. tsk tsk tsk

  • well, you see someone "jacking off" a stick because it's what you want to see. I'd like to you do anything close to what does guys are doing. Much respect to other forms of discipline out there, but seriously do we learn or find out about these things just so we can bash other disciplines we don't agree with... This is a new low.. tsk tsk tsk

  • I want to learn Wushu even If I have to be in bright clothes or look gayyyyy

  • i dont wear bright clothes its for competitions and show

  • @captfalconXX

r u Insulting chinese traditional clothes?

    dump ass

  • hey guys check out my wushu show reel on my channel

  • The word WuShu can both be used as a term for chinese martial arts in general and the sport WuShu.

Training traditional WuShu doesn't mean you can't train and compete in the sport WuShu and vice versa. The average WuShu athlete is alot more conditioned than the average traditional WuShu practitioner.

  • "Kung fu" has nothing to do with martial art. Literally in chinese it means "hard work". The Americans use this term to describe Chineses martial arts because Bruce Lee used the word. In the future, if you see anyone refer to Chinese martial arts as "kung fu" instead of "wushu", they probably don't know a thing about the dicipline.

Secondly, it's an ART, which means it's uses are not strictly for combat purposes. If you want to comment about wushu, then actually get you facts straight.

  • your a thick cunt

  • Wushu is not gay! You are gay! You are a dumb stupid asshole. Bastard! Wushu is the best sport and martial art.

  • umm wushu means chinese martial arts wich the most heard word is kung fu not wushu wushu is kung fu

  • actually jackie chan didnt study wushu, he studied drunken monkey form, as for jet li he did study wushu, and was a internatianal champ at a young age, he even proformed for president nixon if i remember right on the white house lawn when he was 11 i think it was

  • ALL OF YOU WUSHU HATERS , STFU ! ok?

when you dont like wushu or think it is gay dont post a comment and dont watch wushu videos.

your comments suck! i train wushu and im not gay.

  • damn, did you see that dude jacking off that stick and trying to poke that flailing flaming gay dude?

  • @taimaishu403

    f u

  • Wow!1936. That was the Republic of China, not the People's Republic of China.

  • k...why didn't we see this in the Olympics ???

  • sure i bet this looks good but is there any effectiveness behind the technique???

  • yes, it's effective but only if you make it right..

  • what do you think bruce lee, jackie chan, and jet li used? Wushu.

  • Jackie Chan uses a style of stage fighting. He never practiced an actual martial art. Though I'm very sure, based on his moves, that the roots of his stage fighting are in Wushu.

Bruce Lee originally practiced a form of Wushu known as Gung Fu. This he perfected along with the moves he learned from the other styles he studied briefly to create his own style, Jeet Kune Do.

I can't tell you much about Jet Li since I'm not a fan of him.

  • Omg, gung fu is no style in itself. And Bruce Lee did some Wing Chun, and Jackie practiced some Choy Lee Fut. Though when Jackie trained at the Peking Opera it was not CLF, but Wushu something.

And Jet Li was the champ in Wushu something at age 12,13,14, and 15. more or less, stage fighting.

  • correct about chan. "wushu" stands for all chinese martial arts, including trad styles such as wing chun, hung gar, xingyi, etc... modern competition wushu routines and sanda/sanshou, taijiquan, etc.... plus, the stage combat and acrobatics seeing in beijing opera can be considered a form of wushu too.

  • only if they are quick enough - otherwise another fighter of more traditional styles could grip their leg and throw them on the ground. Also I assume form would matter and have to be precise. If not perfect, they are creating too many open spaces for targets. And I wouldn't suggest landing in a split when fighting, that's unwise. I'm not bashing the art, though, I'm just analyzing it based on my martial arts training.

  • Dont worry, It meant to be a joke.

  • stupid white racist

  • 1:23 holy shit an army of martial artists

  • guns always ruin the fun =(

  • Yes but if they didnt have guns they are fucked up!

Machinegunners can also be killed by a big bomb! And in streetfight martial arts fuck everybody!

  • MOTHERFOCKER STUPIDO

  • wushu is the motion of god. us wushu practitioners are as close to god as man can be, we see his motions, we feel his movements, we give birth to the children of god who train in his praise.our sweat are his tears! our pain is his love! our every movement becomes a bridge in which we feel and even become god!!...except this new nandu shit. that stuff sucks!

  • grow sum balls

  • i do have balls. but we call them juevos. i even have juevo cream for when i shave them. i'll give you some when you grow a pair

  • nice diss lol

  • the music from seek and destroy, nice!

  • É MUITO LEGAL

  • im glad you came from ancient china to share that with us.

  • hmn...i think u should have researched more before u wrote these comments.

  • I agree - have to add: fighting while jumpin and backlooping even against multiple enemy's is much to breathtaking than many other more effective ways. But if you are good at loop Kicking like wushuists you are quick ... And maby well trained Dancers are also good fighers the vitalpoint is fast moving and timing in dance or fight

  • AWESOME

  • there was no nangun and nandao :-(

  • That girl from 4:11 through 4:35 made me want to cry her form was so perfect. She is the definition of grace.

  • okay! I want to learn wushu now!

  • I like Jianshu best.

  • if you don't like wushu then why do you keep on watching wushu videos then, like the wushu vids of children in Beijing?

  • you don't know what you're talking about. a) obviously it is a real martial art, but if you mean how it has developed recently that can still be addressed. b)cccp refers to the soviet union, not even china, so yeah. c) the blades they use are generally practice weapons which are lighter and more flexible than real weapons, but these weapons in their true form are still VERY flexible. d) as a practitioner, i'm fully aware that wushu is a very powerful and well grounded martial art.

  • your wrong, wushu also just means martial arts, not refering to anything specific

  • I dont want to talk about it further, since u wont get it anyway. Just keep in mind: the next time u want to comment sth. perhaps you should at least inform u about the basics first.

  • u dont have a clue. since my first post got obviously deleted. Just to give u some hints: Zhou Dynasty (and im not even sure wether i am correct and it asnt even before this period). its not only a martial art, its a way of life, which bu will never understand.

  • wushu was the first form of martial arts

  • Wushu is not so much a single form of martial art as it is an amalgamation of different schools that have been highly stylized for performance and competition. The history of wushu really got its start when the early Chinese government banned the teaching of combative martial arts for fear of rebellion. As a result many practitioners found an outlet in a stylized form of traditional martial art styles designed for show performance rather than combat.

  • 我练习武术 但你想想 在视频是好的
