@TonightWeFly7 Thanks! Although I always tend to mess around with videos after filming them (removing shake etc) so there's more to it than just using the right camera. Camera on this particular video was a Sanyo VPC-HD1000 although I've got through two more since then (Gotta find new toys!) Actually I'm open to offers on it as it's sat in my drawer unused for the last year.
And yeah, I agree about this as a single, especially as the lyrics have been consistently topical for the last year.
I gave a few friends my cd's from the divine. It took some time for them to start liking it but now they totally caught it! There's just nothing like it and i still discover songs that i did'nt notice before and now are part of the soudtrack of my life!
Neil Hannon is to modern music what terry Gilliam and Jim Jarmush are to cinematography. Only he is director but also plays the main caracter!
Great post!! Saw him at The Hard Rock in Manchester Monday just gone and he was superb!! The new album is superb too. Thinking I'm liking it even more than Casanova.
i work as an AV technician for a predominant bank. today, i managed to play this as walk-in music for an internal conference.
ha!
obviously i got away with it because bankers don't understand music, all music is filtered out to it's component financial parts: how much the instruments cost, what was the profit ratio on the CD cases. that sort of thing.
to a banker, the lyrics of this song just sound like the buzz of a hornet in a dildo factory, but to me it was a glorious fanfare of triumph.
@urbancowboyfunk This is the single greatest comment I have ever seen on youtube; so much so that I felt compelled to actually SIGN IN to youtube, leaving this page and finding the video again after signing in just to post this comment. I take my hat off to you sir, and hope you continue to 'stick it to the man' like this for a long time to come.
You did a wonderful job with these videos. This is such a great song, I have a feeling that Bang Goes The Knighthood is going to be Neil's best since Promenade.
I love the melody where he sings "how i hanker for the good old days". Can't wait to hear what the album version is like.
Thanks for uploading. I saw him the next day (8th May) in Germany (guess it was the same setlist) and I'd really like to have your complete recording on my harddisk. Maybe we can work something out?
@mschulze0 heya sorry as you know Neil played a lot of new songs and I don't want to distribute them at this stage. Also the original files are 1080i HD and GBs in size; so it would be a real pain to distribute them. But I hope to upload more of them on here eventually.
Brilliant !!

What kind of camera do you use, sighkid? Your videos always look gorgeous.
This should have been the third single from the album.

I bet you wished you kept that money you put in his hat now. That's half of Irelands budget for the next five years...
