If the steering or throttle horns are WAY off, then yes, move them over a spline. Once they are proper, use the sub-trim for your drastic trim settings. Once thats done you can use the standard trim to make minor adjustments.
@TeamFastEddy any thing more than a couple click of sub is fine, but more than that the servo reaches the end of it's throw before the input does. many years of heli flying will teach you that for sure.
@maintguy69 Issue is that the splines will only allow you to get the horn on in 2 possible positions for the front wheels. Need to choose the position that is closest to center as possible then use the sub-trim to get them as close as possible to center, In this case the closest to center is still quite a ways out off of center with all the trims set to 0. These are not 10th scale servos with a "Fine Tooth Spline", They are 1/4 scale servos with only a few splines. Otherwise yes you are correct.

don't use sub trim.... is better to take the horn off the servo, center the servo, and reinstall the horn.
