@Stayfit4health I'm sure the critics said the same of the apostles (and early Christianity) when they crucified Christ despite most everyone thinking Jesus would rule Jerusalem as a King at that time not realizing His true mission the 1st time He came.
what holy place did Christ ministry in when the veil is already rent making the temple whole & not separated anymore, so now we have the Holy of Holies.
@queenjahh Keep in mind, the OT sanctuary IS the pattern given by God to Israel. In the services, etc lies spiritual truths that would explain the work of the Messiah then to come, now that has come - Jesus. The rent veil on earth doesn't negate the pattern of the work that the OT sanctuary teaches us. It simply signified as the prophecies in Daniel point out the end of the animal sacrificial system and rest of the mosaic law/ordinances/ceremonies. Jesus continued the pattern given as vid states
These sacrificial pictures are needed because like in the days of moses the People wanted an intercessor. But the real god wanted to speak face to face with man but man was afraid. Also if you read the bible blood of a lamb was not used as a picture it was the blood of bulls and goats for a reason. So sad but Jesus meets us where we're at so if we need a priest he'll be that or a king or a booming voice with lightning.legalised attempts to save ourselves has made the Christian Sabbath message sour.
Hebrews 9:12 "Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in ONCE into the holy place, having obtained ETERNAL REDEMPTION for us."
This is God's Truth spelled out in plain language. I would be curious to hear Doug Batchelor, or anyone else, interpret this verse to bring it into accordance with the special doctrine of Investigative Judgement.
@salmagnum Check the greek please. The words holy place there is simply "hagion" which is speaking of the sanctuary in heaven as a whole. It is not speaking of a specific compartment as it does in Heb 9:3 - hagia hagion = Holiest of all or Holy of Holies. Study the OT sanctuary service. the Priest came into the sanctuary once with the blood of animals to anoint it.
@salmagnum And then he performed the daily for the people. Christ likewise anointed heavens sanctuary with His blood on the cross, and now ministers daily on our behalf.
@frank24607 You mean "He 1st ascended into the holy of holies". You'll need to study the old testament sanctuary service to understand this, but basically it was given to serve as a model of the work of Christ. Study specifically the role of the high priest then and to understand the work of our new high priest now, Jesus Christ.
"And the twelve gates were twelve perals:each individual gate was of one pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass. But I saw NO TEMPLE IN IT, FOR THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY AND THE LAMB ARE THE ITS TEMPLE."
Heb 8:1 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such a high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;
Heb 8:2 A MINISTER OF THE SANCTUARY, AND OF THE TRUE TABERNACLE, which the Lord pitched, and not man.
You are quoting Revelation 21: 21-22 completely out of context. What you just quoted, is the coming of the New Jerusalem, the city of God at the time of judgment. This is AFTER Jesus' Second coming and where there is no temple with in, because their is no need of it. The temple/sanctuary of Hebrews explains the ministry of the Old Testament sanctuary unlocking it's symbolic meaning to indicate to us the phase of ministry Jesus is now in in the Heavenly Courts.
On top of that, Revelation 21::21-22 does not say there "is no temple" in Jerusalem. It says "I SAW no temple in it". This could be taken that the glory and brightness of God is so bright that it eclipses the glory of the Temple, just like verse 23 says the "city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon", not because there is no sun, and no moon, but because the brightness of God "did lighten it". But the proof that the sun and moon will still exist is found in Isaiah 24:23. ;)
I've never looked at this that way. Something to consider. But I'd use Isaiah 66:23 instead of 24:23, because in 66:23 we need the sun and moon to be able to tell "time" and know when its sabbath and new moon (month) -see Genesis 1:14. what do u think?
Well, even in light of 66:23, anti-Sabbatarians have used Rev 21:21-22 to try and "prove" we'll have no solar cycles. But then 24:23 confirms that they exist, but both sun and moon are simply "ashamed", cuz the light of God's glory eclipses the sun. I believe this to be the same for the Temple.
Some in the past have tried to tell me that the Prophecies with Isaiah, Jeremiah, Zechariah which apply to the end of the Millennium are regarding the physical Jerusalem, not the "New Jerusalem". Their argument is that these passages mention a "temple", and Revelation says there is "no temple". To this one guy, this is proof that the city surrounded by Gog and Magog is the earthly Jerusalem, because the Heavenly One will have no temple on the earth.
Please prayerfully study your Bible more closely. It's truths are simple to understand, but DEEP and Wide also, like digging for treasure and can ONLY be understood by the Holy Spirit when you put bias, pride and self aside. Will to understand God's will as it is revealed in His Word.
There is a Temple in heaven presently. The context of Revelation 21:21-22 is after the New Jerusalem settles down on the earth. However, this does not mean there is no temple. Ezekiel 40-46 describe a temple OUTSIDE of the city in Ezekiel's vision. Regardless, Revelation does not contradict itself. There IS a temple in heaven. But in chapter 21, John is describe the New Jerusalem after it comes down. Sin is over, and eradicated. No more need for priestly ministry in a temple.
Lets face it, if 1844 was error, than the SDA Church does not have a leg to stand on.

i agree.i wish i could know how to count the bible years....from B.C to A.D and on and on till nw.
Deexditon 2 years ago
From 457 BC to 1844 AD = 1844+457-1 (because in math you go form -1 to 0 to +1, but there is no zero year) = 2300 years

So what exactly is he (DB) talking about?

Oooh I think I see what you mean with 24:23 now. Good point. the sun and mon wont disappear, they'll be "ashamed" compared to his glory. good point
