Well said... but just to point out, at 1:36 they are not SAS recruits - It's members of the 4th Batallion, The Yorkshire Regiment in Georgia, USA in late 2007. Excersize Gloworm I think it was called. I know because I'm in that batallion myself, and were are certainly not Special Forces!

i just came out the army last week i left coz my chest was keeping me back in training i was in the royal regiment of scotland i was doing my training in catterick i was on my 12 week.
i am 14 and i have wanted to join the army for aver 4 years now, i get good grades and school and i am disciplined, can anybody tell me what the interviews and selection is like please?
Depends if you want to be an officer or soldier. If you choose officer then you have to pass a 3 day test weekend and if you pass that you go to Sandhurst for about 2 weeks. If you choose soldier you have 13 weeks training then phase 2 training with your regiment. Phase 2 training could be engineering if your going with REME or Royal Engineers or driving with Logistics. If you want to join the Paras you will have to pass P Coy selection course ( A lot of running and tabbing!)
You would be asked why you want to join the army. You would be asked what would your family think for joining the army. It is a fantastic place to be. You will meet fantastic people you dont get to meet in civvi streets
I passed selection a few weeks ago, i start phase 1 on the 23rd of August :D
Selection isnt hard, just keep your head down, do whatever your told and give the physical stuff your best and you wont have any problems, and whatever you do dont give get mouthy with anyone or the corporals will rip you a new one and fail you on the spot, couple of idiots did that when i was at selection.

Thats the disciplin of it mate, thats why we are the best. That sort of disciplin stops after about 12 weeks anyway, they strip you down to nothing, then build you up to be a British Soldier.

Being a soldier isn't just about being the best of the best. Teamwork, respect and loyalty are just a few of them. If you want to join just because you want to fight or be the best, don't bother. It is a whole lot more than that.
i want to join the british army 'coz of various reasons. it includes economy, facilities, standard and it has become like our tradition. my father was in the british gurkhas and my grandfather too, so i guess it's my turn now.
it depends on what regiment, the royal marine commandos and the parachute regiment are the toughest training regimes in history, theyll turn you into a fucking superhero and you wont even notice cos your fellow recruits will be going through it aswell, its a phenominal transofmation, but at the end you can look back and now the pain was worth it.

1.36 are sas recruits.......the british army is by far the best in the world....every british soldier is equal to 2 soldiers out of any other army...other armies may have more but one on one the british are the best....infantry soldiers are the best the armies got,we train fucking hard every single day and do 6 months or gruelling training....SOLDIERS DESERVE A PLACE IN HEAVEN BECAUSE THEY LIVE A LIFE OF HELL... support the troops coz if you could do it you would be sat in my place rite now

Well said... but just to point out, at 1:36 they are not SAS recruits - It's members of the 4th Batallion, The Yorkshire Regiment in Georgia, USA in late 2007. Excersize Gloworm I think it was called. I know because I'm in that batallion myself, and were are certainly not Special Forces!

@veedublee Why would you say they're SAS recruits? just cos they're carrying M16's, we regularly train with the yanks this could be from one of those.
Also I doubt this is SAS recruits as the first phase of selection where most get weeded out is the mountain phase where they tab across the Brecons on their own, not in groups, they have to show they're self motivated.

@veedublee I don't think so. The equipment helps. Training is good. But experience ist is the most worthy - sometimes it is more worthy. Thats why british soldiers are werry good. Sorry for bad english- I am learnig it.

@veedublee the are not SAS, SAS only train with live ammo im shore in the picture i can see the protectors at the end of the barrel that you put on when your fireing blanks, also there is no union jack on the left arms ( the right arm to us) visible all british soldiers and RAF and navel people have that on them. and the SAS would not be that thick to take pictures of them selves trainning beacuse they are not aloud to

@veedublee A British Infantry Soldier is equivalent to that of ten U.S Marines. I've got millions of google info to back me in that one. And the American Marines are not very good with intellectual training,and they make fun of their own Army,and make dumb statements based on recruiting propaganda.

@kiki0391 here we go again.. 'help' we received from the US. It was OUR Navy and RAF that saved our asses, not the USA or Russia. You didn't turn up until 1942 at which time we had won the battle of Britain in the air, and were fighting again Africa and Burma. You didn't help us with food and ammo through the goodness of your hearts, we only paid off the debt in 2007 You lot were next on Hitlers list, thats why. Conflicts you've been in without the Brits by your side, you've lost, e.g. Vietnam

That's the plan do go to Sandhurst and hopefully get into the aircorps after and fly the Lynx Wildcat and then maybe the Apache one day. Unfortunately my parents on to keen on the army

The para at 1:54 was a good mate of mine we went 2 school together, unfortunately he was killed a year ago in afghanistan by a roadside bomb. rest in peace mate we miss you .

i just came out the army last week i left coz my chest was keeping me back in training i was in the royal regiment of scotland i was doing my training in catterick i was on my 12 week.

Depends if you want to be an officer or soldier. If you choose officer then you have to pass a 3 day test weekend and if you pass that you go to Sandhurst for about 2 weeks. If you choose soldier you have 13 weeks training then phase 2 training with your regiment. Phase 2 training could be engineering if your going with REME or Royal Engineers or driving with Logistics. If you want to join the Paras you will have to pass P Coy selection course ( A lot of running and tabbing!)

I passed selection a few weeks ago, i start phase 1 on the 23rd of August :D
Selection isnt hard, just keep your head down, do whatever your told and give the physical stuff your best and you wont have any problems, and whatever you do dont give get mouthy with anyone or the corporals will rip you a new one and fail you on the spot, couple of idiots did that when i was at selection.
So, head down, try hard and its a cake walk.

Thats the disciplin of it mate, thats why we are the best. That sort of disciplin stops after about 12 weeks anyway, they strip you down to nothing, then build you up to be a British Soldier.

Being a soldier isn't just about being the best of the best. Teamwork, respect and loyalty are just a few of them. If you want to join just because you want to fight or be the best, don't bother. It is a whole lot more than that.

it depends on what regiment, the royal marine commandos and the parachute regiment are the toughest training regimes in history, theyll turn you into a fucking superhero and you wont even notice cos your fellow recruits will be going through it aswell, its a phenominal transofmation, but at the end you can look back and now the pain was worth it.
