I think the saddest, most beautiful part of the movie for me was the scene towards the very end of the movie when Precious is in the waiting room with the little girl with the nappy hair and her big mother and the poor girl has a black eye and a very sad look on her face. Precious then gets a red scarf and wraps it around the girl. I'm a guy and that meant a lot to me. It was Precious' way of saying 'Be strong, you're beautiful'. Powerful.
Funny, for some reason I thought Mariah would be the principal or the teacher, but she was just the social worker. She did a great job and it didn't seem like it was Mariah at all, it felt like it was a genuine social worker. Great job Mimi. This should get movie of the year. Here's to more real movies and less glamorous, fantasy junk.
Thanks for your honest opinion of the movie. I read the book because the whole story is always in the book. Some things just can not be seen on scree n. Thanks Again.
thanks for your comments you seem to be mixed & to the Haters the story is a human story a,I seen a White women on a show about women in prison & a white woman gave her boyfrienhd her young daughter verginity for his birthday -unbelievable but true & I hated her also
Lee Daniels has never worked with DMX and he has never worked with Eve! I don't know where you got that and you should also do your homework because Lee Daniels has produced movies "The Woodsmen" and "Teneessee" that had nothing to do with "black entertainment" or "black culture" so I think your comment was uninformed and slightly racist! The camera effect you refer only happed three times and it was to downplay the action that was happen!
I just saw the movie and it was sooo Sad! and it ened so sad still. I read the book and it was disturbing but was more detailed like when precious was in a shelter and people took her stuff I feel the movie could have been created better and the black spots in the movie were crazy
I appreciate that you included bookmarks in the description.
I wish more people would do that on their videos.

I had already mentioned in the description that I made a mistake and it's not DMX, it's Mos Def who I was thinking about.
Eve was in "The Woodsman."
And I'm sorry if you thought I sounded racist. I don't think I did, but I'm sorry for you nontheless.

Hmm...SPOILER:
It's an intense scene when Precious comes home after giving birth.
Monique goes crazy, and starts attacking her. The T.V. is the last thing she ever throws at her.
