A little anoying as it wasn't just U.S Marines at Khe San. Still, like most things american , this documentry seems to be ignoring the rest of the world.
Australians have fought in every war the u.s has as an ally since the first world war. Weve even fought a few on our own.
Have to say the Ho Chi Minh Trail is one of the most complex military structures had built so far. Hundreds of B 52 can't stop the VC from smuggling weapons into the South.
Sun Tzu was a soldier, he did not write on economics, but I'll take a leap and say that he wouldn't think too much of China's tottering state-owned banks and industries. I'll go further and say he'd gape just as slack-jawed as I did to see the footage of the "ghost cities".
Please to remember that twenty years ago Japan was expected to take over the world. Where are they now? Into their third "lost decade".
In human modern history many great people used and inspired by Sun Tzu tactics. Napoleon, Himmler, Rommel, WW2 Japanese commanders, Stalin, the IRA, IDF, some Chechen commanders...
I had never before heard that Giap had the Tet offensive unwillingly forced on him by the NV politburo. Tet was a military disaster that was deftly spun into a propaganda victory after the fact.
@happosai27 If your citizens know that you can't win a battles, then they will complain about the military. Why do we play 1/3rd of our money to the military? We should down-size. We don't need that big of a military. Nobody is going to take out America, and America isn't going to take anyone else out. Why does America give the rich tax breaks, even though they aren't creating jobs? xP
@happosai27 The Afghans have been undefeated since Alexander the great. They would rather die then surrender. That is how they were since the beginning, it is tribal warfare mindset. You can't defeat them.
We should stop this pointless occupation. Why are we still there?
@jmikejapan because war is good business. and a enemy who is not giving up is a good enemy for a endless war on terror. now go back to watching tv and stop being so unpatriotic lol ^.^
@jmikejapan jane fonda the commie sympatizer? oh god noo D: the choice between commies and the current currupted system is like the choice between the plague and cholera if you ask me. the people should water the tree of liberty with the blood of some real patriots and tyrants like thomas jefferson said and hang the parasitic banksters and their puppetregime that invested your great nation in the last century. so they can return to a real consititutional republic like it was intended to be.
@happosai27 I'm just joking! lol. I used to live in a Communist Nation for a while so I know what it's like and I am for a real democracy and not one ruled by bankers that use our government officials like puppets. Return to the real constitutional ideals! I'm right there with you!

Many reasons, mostly political at home and using tactics meant for a centralized state on a highly decentralized one.
