@muni86 It is REAL FPV,he uses a GoPro wired to his video TX...what he sees is in each video...no other cameras are on his copter...he uses a tricopter,which is still VTOL just like a heli.

He can't see the HD picture in his video goggles (nobody can), so it is no real FPV. I love HD but the title would be "Best FPV flight recorded with HD onboard camera" and not "Best FPV flight". No matter if the picture is from the same camera.
@muni86 You are just grasping at straws and nitpicking....the only reason he isnt seeing what the gopro sees in HD is because the transmitters that are used for FPV can not transmit in HD...fact still remains,everything you see in his videos is exactly what he sees in his goggles minus being in HD.....now if you want to nitpick his tricopter,he actually designed and built his copter from scratch....he didnt just go buy some cookiecutter Align kit and strap some cameras to it.

I totally agree with TheBlackKnob. Too dangerous. This hobby is already staring down the throat of major regulation by the government and I cannot help but think it is because of this type of wreckless flying. The risk is too great. These helis can really hurt someone bad. Not worth the risk.

This video is good, but the pilot is a fool. Because of video like that and accidents will happen and in a few years, we will have to have permits to fly these fpv. Anyway, one day your heli will have a problem, it will fall. I only hope that nobody will be near. If so, someone will be decapitate even if the video is great.

Also, flying a Tricopter is easier, yes, but flying one well is just as hard.
And the fact of the matter is, this VIDEO is not very good. The flying is OK, but we are not really rating that. And do you know why there are no other videos? It's because no one else uses a helicopter: they are the worst in terms of ease of flying, and so they produce crap videos, like this one.
Search "T-Rex 450 accident face" on youtube and you will see what kind of wound this kind of heli can do. No one should ever fly so close to people with these kind of heli. If you want to do that, use a multicopter which is has 8 inch smooth plastic blades rather than this flying inverted mower with 1 meter carbon blades !
Very cool, very ballsy. Im sure he knew the risk involved and would be responsible for what ever happened. You can't penalize all the rest of us for one persons actions as it's all stated in the manual what not to do. I do like this though.
What's the big deal. If you get your Heli stuck on the Cross You'll prob get your name in the paper... not a good thing, but otherwise I don't see a 16oz Heli doing much damage to a 1/4 inch copper roof. I say try landing on the coupilla next time :-)
Not gonna lie, you're not very bright for flying it around so many people at such close range. You're risking this validity of this hobby for the sake of your enjoyment of being the "best" FPV pilot. Oh well, at least no one got hurt.

Are you flying FPV on the helicopter without the canopy? I am consider removing the canopy on mine in order to gain more mounting areas for my FPV gear. Are there any disadvantages in doing that way?

@ChaosDynamics You're giving a >1 pound helicopter too much credit. That little machine would be torn to shreds in a millisecond if he made contact with one of those old stone and metal structures. Virtually no damage would take place aside from some very minor paint or gold leaf removal.
@evilwarwolf 10 min if I'm flying like a grandpa and with a fully discharged battery, 800m range with this setup
My new setup has cheaper blades, they are not that thick and rigid, so less air resistance and 1 minute additional flight time. With half-symmetric blades and a lower head speed even more flight time is possible. Also with a bigger battery, but that's also more weight and at some point less flight time.
@muni86 why not try to get one to run off a 3G wireless network? That way you could go much much further, with only slight lag in control. You could even make this into a plane to go much further distances, like a drone.
The Japanese used a T-hawk drone for several missions where the electronics worked fine, the radiation is enough to cause concern for human health but not electronics, though they did lose control for unknown reasons - radiation might have been a factor.
Yeah, I made the acceptance test for Austrian military pilots when I was 19. I almost passed the test, the only problem was multitasking and stress resistance.
But the Eye-Hand-Feet coordination, spatial sense and mathematics were outstanding, perfect for RC flying :-D

1/2 Alright so you made the acceptance. Then you failed the test. Can't you try it again? Because I know that being under pressure and multitasking is obviously hard, but with practice you could master it.
Well it is pretty amazing what you are showing us. It's almost like you have 4 other cameras pointing everywhere since you know exactly what is where. Plus you know every little detail on how to do things. You don't really maths, but coordination is automatic maths in your head.

I know this must be fun and its fascinating but its just a matter of time until one of these hits someone and in addition to the lawsuits the lawmakers start imposing heavy restrictions and bans on all sorts of RC to "protect people from these flying menaces". Great way to wreck the entire hobby. My advice, keep it away from crowds and don't fly over populated areas. May not be as thrilling but sometimes you gotta sacrifice to keep it safe.

Very cool, very ballsy. Im sure he knew the risk involved and would be responsible for what ever happened. You can't penalize all the rest of us for one persons actions as it's all stated in the manual what not to do. I do like this though.

What's the big deal. If you get your Heli stuck on the Cross You'll prob get your name in the paper... not a good thing, but otherwise I don't see a 16oz Heli doing much damage to a 1/4 inch copper roof. I say try landing on the coupilla next time :-)

Not gonna lie, you're not very bright for flying it around so many people at such close range. You're risking this validity of this hobby for the sake of your enjoyment of being the "best" FPV pilot. Oh well, at least no one got hurt.

Are you flying FPV on the helicopter without the canopy? I am consider removing the canopy on mine in order to gain more mounting areas for my FPV gear. Are there any disadvantages in doing that way?

@ChaosDynamics You're giving a >1 pound helicopter too much credit. That little machine would be torn to shreds in a millisecond if he made contact with one of those old stone and metal structures. Virtually no damage would take place aside from some very minor paint or gold leaf removal.

@evilwarwolf 10 min if I'm flying like a grandpa and with a fully discharged battery, 800m range with this setup
My new setup has cheaper blades, they are not that thick and rigid, so less air resistance and 1 minute additional flight time. With half-symmetric blades and a lower head speed even more flight time is possible. Also with a bigger battery, but that's also more weight and at some point less flight time.

The Japanese used a T-hawk drone for several missions where the electronics worked fine, the radiation is enough to cause concern for human health but not electronics, though they did lose control for unknown reasons - radiation might have been a factor.

Yeah, I made the acceptance test for Austrian military pilots when I was 19. I almost passed the test, the only problem was multitasking and stress resistance.
But the Eye-Hand-Feet coordination, spatial sense and mathematics were outstanding, perfect for RC flying :-D
OK, you don't need maths for RC flying, but I need it for my study ;-)

Well it is pretty amazing what you are showing us. It's almost like you have 4 other cameras pointing everywhere since you know exactly what is where. Plus you know every little detail on how to do things. You don't really maths, but coordination is automatic maths in your head.

I know this must be fun and its fascinating but its just a matter of time until one of these hits someone and in addition to the lawsuits the lawmakers start imposing heavy restrictions and bans on all sorts of RC to "protect people from these flying menaces". Great way to wreck the entire hobby. My advice, keep it away from crowds and don't fly over populated areas. May not be as thrilling but sometimes you gotta sacrifice to keep it safe.

FPV Legend? This video isn't even that good... not to mention dangerous and incredibly inconsiderate to the people over whom you flew your heli. Where are you getting all of this worlds best stuff? This video should be titled "WORLDS MOST INCONSIDERATE and dangerous single FPV RC Helicopter Flight!..." Their is an FPV legend out there, but he is not you and he does not fly within feet of people with a 450. Be careful guy, you are gonna hurt somebody.
