I bought CR-425 come with "Penryn" T8100 processor, 3 GB RAM, Quad-mode Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n) , I'd change the O.S. I installed ubuntu (linux). I Recommend Ubuntu 8.04 Is Much Faster Than Windows Vista Service Pack 1.

i recommend for all Sony fans to bought Sony SZ. i have one on 2.4 ghz 2 RAM, is very lite, come with carbon fiber, good performance and stamina on the battery. really good for business user and student but non gamer. tell me u guys thing for which Sony is the best. but the negative side, all Sony keyboard looks like plastic and cheap even is not, but i thing is to make it lite.

dude, a 2001 laptop can run counter strike.... u dont need a sony to run counter strike, even the worst laptop (asus) can run counter strike because counter strike is a 1995 game..... we are in 2008....HELLO!!! WAKE UP!!! LOL :P

Hey dood. so I just finished installing CSS on my Vaio SZ 730, and ran it. Mind you, i just played with one bot on de_dust2, but it ran rather smooth. However, when there were explosions, i.e. bomb going off, there was a little lag. Also, keep in mind that I tested just with a bot. I'm not sure how the sz and 8400 GS will hold up online, but it should play :)

I see that you're interested in the sz...i just bought one, and will attempt to run CSS on it. It meets MINIMUM requirements for CSS, but I'll tell you how smoothly it runs...

with the 8400 GS and 64 mb dedicated video memory, it's hardly considered a "gaming" laptop. sure, it'll run minesweeper like a champ! We are talking about the sony sz? But I agree that the T9500 is attractive, but just in combination with 4 GB memory w/o any "real" dedicated video card, how does that make this a gaming laptop?

The 8400 GS does standard....but the vaio uses a hybrid graphics system where only 64 is DEDICATED...

yeh sorry man i got the grafics card rong haha, but im now looking at buy a hp dv6700 thrive edition. it has intel core duo t7500 @2.2GHz (dunno what that is haha) and it has a geforce 8400m grafix card, also has 4 gb memory and 250 gig hd, or a can get a dv6800 with same grafixs card but it has intel core duo t8100 @ 2.1GHz and everything else is that same, the dv6800 is $50 cheaper? what should i get?

Well, I'd go for the T8100...it has a Penryn processor, which runs cooler and draws less power. The T7500, although having a higher clock speed, is not Penryn. Both are good laptop CPUs, but because of the newer technology in the T8100, I'd have to lean towards the dv6800. :)

Trust me...i have an sz and researched thoroughly before my purchase...i'm in the process of answering this other guy's question about CSS...
