hi, I am new to Ukulele and looking for a cheap but a good quality ukulele! Now i am really struggling with which Ukulele should i get. Should i get a Makala MK-S or a Lanikai LU-21? please help!!
i have a question.Please reply. So i was wondering what wood is better sounding......hawaiian koa or zebrawood? also what is the difference between "curly," and "laminated" koa wood?
@50nollieman Hawaiian Koa = best wood for Ukulele. Some guitar woods like Mahogany and Spruce, are not really meant for the Ukulele's small size and pitch. "Curly" is an adjective used to describe the visible texture of the Koa wood, it has nothing to do with the sound it will make. "Laminated" = more than one peace of wood "laminated" together. The opposite of "laminate" is a "solid" wood. Laminate = cheaper, less sound quality, sound doesn't change, Solid = opposite of that.
@SubtleIntricacy He didn't know, he just makes up whatever, but it does sound like something. Maybe touched from a few different tunes. Just watch his fingers and listen if your gonna copy. Thanks~

Sounds to me like the Ko'olau is the softer sound, Kamaka has the tinnier kine sound, and the Kanile'a has the fullest.
But all are da kine.

@SoCalOski I agree with the Kanile'a observation

Not sure any one sounds better, just different. It's what's sonically pleasing to your ear. They are all great.

What song are you playing around 2 minutes? I definitely recognize it.
It sort of reminds me of a song off of one of the Final Fantasys I think.
