I have always been baffled how Levin not only failed to embrace Ron Paul but went out of his way to dis him. This despite nearly 90% of Levin's usual 'rant' is in accord with Dr. Paul. So... that means Levin would rather look to dolts like Romney rather than Paul because of approximately 10% of disagreement on foreign policy. I contend that 3 things must be met to support a (any) foreign policy: Is it- Constitutional? Meeting constitutional intent? Affordable? (that answer is NO- regardless).
Mark Levin is a LYING ASSHOLE, and only PINHEAD MORONS buy what he says or sells.
His book Men in Black is about how the Supreme Court in America is destroying the country because they "legislate from the bench" -
Well a "CONSERVATIVE" Supreme Court ruled yesterday that there should be NO LIMIT on how much corporations and special interests can spend in ads and advertisements to try to get someone elected - they ruled that it's OK TO BUY ELECTION RESULTS.
The only problem is that no time in the past century has the government gotten smaller. Saying that we are going to undo the socialism that has taken over our country is far easier said than done. Cutting taxes is easy, its cutting spending that seems to be impossible.
Former secretary of agriculture (for Eisenhouer) the late but great Ezra Taft Benson penned a ten year phase out plan to eliminate socialism. It was in his talk the Proper Role of Government. It seemed to me like it could work...
"The right to preserve territorial sovereignty" what does any of that even mean?
Let's have some principles here. Basically you are saying if there is some unowned land then no one outside your club ("country") has the right to homestead it? And if they try, you will shoot them?
If all land is privately owned, then you don't need a nation-state or national borders. The idea of a government, or nation, is counter-productive -- people don't need governance, they need justice and property rights.
Wasn't Plato the first that told that democracy turns into tyranny?
As for aliens. The citizen does not decide who enters because on a capitalistic society money is king. And the money is in the corporations, which in turn love the idea of cheap labor. Thus, alien enter freely to the USA and work goes outside the USA without ANY penalty to the companies that do so.
Dont like this? Then boycott the big companies and give your business to the small ones. If enough people do it, it stops.
Capitalism itself isn't the problem. Corporatism on the other hand... Read Ayn Rand, Ludvig Von Misus, and Adam Smith. It will blow your mind how not capitalist our country is...
Corporatism is a symptom of fascism, when the government controls the businesses its only a matter of time before they control us all. Dictatorship of the proliteriate? lease, its just a flat out dictatorhip.
A. Sellers would be required to disclosure the cost and origin of the goods sold. That way a buyers could buy thing based on real value of fhings (cost + reputation + reasonable profit). VS the perceived value of things.
B. Government officials could not be so easily (and legally) bribed.
As for economical systems. All look great in theory. But in practice, they fail to account for the fact of corruption.Which allows a small group to decide what is law.
Government is the problem. In a pure capitalist environment government is not involved. People are free to buy sell and trade and keep thier profits for thier own advancement and agenda. Many capitalists, including Reagan and Adam Smith were very genrous with thier money. As am I, we help out, but in our vision the government does not interfere nor force its "morals" on us. Capitalism becomes "corrupt" only when government gets involved and when that happens it ceases to be capitalism
There are boom and busts, but that's any system. This recession is the product of the stupidity of Chris Dodd and Barney Frank, not capitalism. And we have been through worse.
The elite leave your borders open because it disempowers you. It weakens your strength in the labor market and it divides you as a people. It just helps the corporates rule. The liberals are all for it because whites are the big bad of their world view and as you said they live in guilt. Also if they care about the poor of other countries and not their own they can be "good" people without looking at their own privilage compared to the suffering of working class Americans.
Bernard..do you know how long it takes to undo the damage of a socialist government!!! We had one for nine years in NZ....it will take twice that long to fix the damage ...and even then ....
Hi Argus, we had a woman prime minister for 8 long painful years in our country, and she was a lesbian to boot!!, and those 2 things are inextricably intwined, feminism and communism...under the guise of tolerance and liberty..those 2 buzz words aye..gotta love them, now men and fathers have no rights at all in our country, ..we are the experimental model for the rest of the world..Karl marx would have been proud...but its no fun living here under this "liberal" bullshit
No they will not learn because they "feel", they don't "think". If they thought a little then they would realise that this stuff doesn't work.
About NZ. Could you be more technical as to why it is so bad. The heritage foundation of economic freedom (google "2009 index of economic freedom") puts NZ in number 5 in all the countries of the world. UK is in number 10 (for shame, but still good really). Given this, is it really such a bad country?
Hi Argus, on the 1 hand new zealand would have to rate as the safest country to live in...freedon from war etc, and the climate is wonderful and mild in our North Island , and for tourists its a heaven, but to actually live under a feminist run, big sister, big brother, big corporations and big business control all sort of thing, thats another matter entirely, if you're a man you're fucked if you happen to live in this country, too much power held by the feminist "minority"
I picked up Levin's book from the libary last week. I was first on the list! I was just going to read the chapters on the welfare state and the free market since that interests me the most. Now I'll read the whole thing.
This is why I listen to american conservatives. British tories are a bunch of chortling buffoons. They are a joke. If it weren't for Daniel Hannan then I'd write the whole lot of em' off.
Man, well said. I just clicked on the Video and found myself reading your comment and agreeing with everything you just wrote, Mark. The Tories are a far cry from the Tebbit, Enoch and Thatcher days. When "Just call me Dave" takes the reigns there may well be a somewhat cosmetic slow to the rot, but he wont change the direction of things in the end.
Well, they're better than ours. People in America still talk about freedom. Us brits are only concerned with what we can get from the government. The bigger the government the smaller the people and our character is almost non existant. We have no identity and we are letting out contry be changed from under us.
Some of us really like your conservative politician who spoke out against your current prime minister. I forgot his name but I would sponsor a secret CIA mission to abduct and bring him over here and be leader of the republican party...hell...he can be president of the country.
If its the same guy then that guy is awesome. He is bright and articulate which American conservatives seem to lack sometimes. We just like to scream communism or something without explaining our position in a clear and thoughtful manor.
I haven't had a good read in a while, so I'll be on the lookout for this one.
I couldn't agree with the man more about the immigration issue. As someone who lives in California, I can tell you that there are times when I could swear I was in Mexico if I didn't know any different. A lot of the immigrants from down there come up here and show absolutely no respect for their new home. They want all the benefits of living here, but they spit on America and fly their foreign flags with pride.
I live in LA, and the current recession is amusing, in this regard. I once heard one of them complaining about some younger illegal, who stole his job! He then started ranting about how we should control our borders! lol
I think I will get the book because of this review but I find the biggest difference between right and left is that that right's politics is derived from the rights of the individual while the left's ideas are derived from the rights of the state and society as a whole.
The problem with the latter is that if the state and individual ever found themselves in conflict the state's rights over any individual will winn out so, in a way, individual freedom is the only true liberty.
I believe there are more instances of the abridgement of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations.
I have always been baffled how Levin not only failed to embrace Ron Paul but went out of his way to dis him. This despite nearly 90% of Levin's usual 'rant' is in accord with Dr. Paul.
