I saw this movie when it was released and...I really liked it. I can't really see what so bad about it, may have not been Zack Snyder's best story, but it has kind of a "Twilight Zone" style story and twist at the end. I'm looking forward to Zack Snyder's "Superman:Man of Steel" movie.

Was not what i expected at all! It had a lot more thought to it then just testorone filled mayhem, which is what I went in to my theater expecting. Some plot gaps, and obviously was pretty cheesy. But I enjoyed it thoroughly. ♥

But it's still fanservice... gaining audience by playing with guys' (or girls) hormones... a cheap method (sex sells).
And just saying, you can be attractive without being dressed like a slut (as if being attractive = "get naked as much as possible")... and many video games/comics/movies do that a lot to their female characters. As for kicking butts, if you want to be realistic, you can't really expect to fight well in a skirt and high heels (fighting is like sport). But, hey, it looks good and funny on screen.

I guess... being attractive and brainy is cool, alright. The problem in movies/games/comics is... super sexualized women are often just fanservice for the drooling/horny boys/men. Do you want women to be seen as vulgar sex objects first... and (possibly) brilliant characters second ? If boys are as ridiculously sexualized as women, it is okay... fifty/fifty. But it's still fanservice... gaining audience by playing with guys' (or girls) hormones... a cheap method (sex sells).

And just saying, you can be attractive without being dressed like a slut (as if being attractive = "get naked as much as possible")... and many video games/comics/movies do that a lot to their female characters. As for kicking butts, if you want to be realistic, you can't really expect to fight well in a skirt and high heels (fighting is like sport). But, hey, it looks good and funny on screen.
It's funny because I saw more sexy kickass female characters than manly ones in fiction.

I was HELLA pumped for this, but it turns out it has the shittiest ending. Don't want to spoil any more than that, but look it up if you're interested. It's not that everything has to have a fairytale ending to be good, but I'm sick of watching these movies where you get invested in the characters and the journey, but in the end nothing fucking matters anyway. I like watching movies to enjoy myself, and watching people try and fail without any hope isn't my idea of a good time

If you ever looked past the shallow surface of things you'd realize that. And this movie has no meaning - the sad story it tries to pass a plot is a mere contrivance to show one long montage of explosions and half naked women.

And your argument that how they are portrayed as 'hot' is the problem. Would they not still be considered 'hot' if they had clothes that covered them? How does a lack of dress make them more attractive? And based on the previous work of the director/writer - no, it is highly unlikely for there to be a genuine plot.
