I think alot of people were at the Spaure Enix Party, because they were alot of people. Is that a video game store? Must have been a secret place because the game sold quick. You should check if Kingdomhearts Birth by Sleep is there because its sold out in Japan. Do you live there to or were just visiting?
Tsutaya is one of the most popular media stores in the country. It's not a secret place, it's right in the middle of the most popular place for gaming in West Japan with promotional advertising spanning nearly the entire face of a 10 story building. There just weren't a lot of people up at 7AM, and since it was a Thursday most people were at work.
