  • James,

    1. Must take grip off each club

    2. secure the butt of club firmly into rubber clamp in vice

    3. Make sure you pull / load club on a flat line

    4. I usually use a rubber band or a piece of plastic bag to secure clubhead

    5. When you find the best position mark both the clubhead and shaft so you glue in exactly the sme position Same process for irons

    Cheers,

    Paul

  • Paul, I like your videos. I put my driver in my vise with the grip on and gave it a flick, same with my three wood. They are a wobbly mess. If I were to try to FLO these my self, what would I do? In other words do i have to remove the grip and what do u use or how do u keep the head on when finding the Flo, also curious on how do you flo irons or is that just spine alignment? Thanks, James

  • Interesting video. What process do you use to take kick point, shaft thickness, and bend profile to modify this process to help your customers? Thanks for any information.

  • @theMANxGOLFER

This video is more about saying shafts are different a reg is not always a reg and shafts can be manipulated to suit different golfers. I try and keep my stuff as simple as possible for the average punter. My Frequency device measures the overall flex of the total shaft, so softer tip shaft will generally frequency softer than a firmer tip shaft.

When I fit a shaft I take into account, swing speed, tempo, transition, spin rate and ball flight to fit the most suitable shaft.

  • @theMANxGOLFER Example - R11 Driver with standard Blur 60 stiff 45.5" Profile - 2 handicapper 5 foot 8" Swng speed - 105MPH Tempo - Quick Transition - Hard and fast ( loads shaft hard) Ball Flight - High Spin rate - High 3200 Distance - 250 metres / 275 yards Fitted this guy to Diamana 70 S tipped it 1/2 inch @ 44.5" True flex is SS just under X Spin Rate - 2550 Distance - 260metres / 286 yards Heavier shaft firmer tip, tipped to stiffen, helped reduce spin rate and gain 10 metres distance.

Mitsubishi Rayon Diamana Ahina 70 S

  • @PurifiedGolf Sounds like you really helped that customer. What were his launch angle numbers before and after? What conversation did you have regarding the FCT setting on the R11 and what angle to set the shaft (spine and FLO)? Thanks for your feedback. It's interesting to hear about everything you use to make a proper fit..

  • @theMANxGOLFER

    FCT - Neutral setting

    Driver 9 deg

Blur shaft was - 3200 spin rate @ 45.5" and 254CPM Firm flex

    Ahina - 2550 spin rate @ 44.5" and 265CPM SS flex

    Spine / FLO - about 3 o'clock facing target

This result was simply matching the correct shaft proflie, flex and length for his swing. People can't believe how much a shaft can change your game. At $399 you would hope it does..

  • @PurifiedGolf I know it does. Definately worth it for a serious golfer.
