  • Mac's foot work and coordination. Incredible.

  • he's left handed!

  • Definitely back to wood...

And speed up the surfaces they slowed.

I miss when tennis had variety, and I sure miss serve & volley.

  • mac is a legend, but not his forehand :)

  • @tomloft2000 IIRC Segura had a two-handed forehand and a single-handed backhand. Bromwich and McGrath were hitting 2HBH back in the 1930s.

  • their technique were very ugly

  • @PokerLusiada wtf youre talking about, their technique were unique, the best of all times....

  • Connors was the first player playing with a two handed backhand ?

  • Connors's scream when he serves !!! FUNNY

  • @salaheddine10 i remember Bud Collins calling it a "bark".

  • @tomloft2000

    LOOL

  • This was the best era of tennis ever.

Wimbledon should bring back all wood rackets - much longer rallies, finesses - the way it should be.

  • Is McEnroe playing with a different version of the Dunlop Maxply.

  • @itsareligionofpeace they should bring the fast and slippy grass back too ;)

  • @itsareligionofpeace I agree... to some extent. Although it was a little before my time, tennis was more fun to watch when it was a contest of placement, touch, and angles. Plus, you hardly ever see serve and volley players nowadays. But alas, technology changes things.

  • @itsareligionofpeace You realize connors is using a steel racquet

  • The BBC narrating is the best in the world.

  • Well, that's a typicall point these days... I really don't like why they slowed down the courts! :(((

  • It's not a typical point and they didn't "slow down the courts." Players of that era grew up playing wooden rackets and so they did not have the luxury of swinging out on the ball the way modern players do. They had to use more finesse and strategy to create openings rather than just bludgeoning the ball every point. You saw a major shift when the juniors who learned the game with stiffer, wider graphite rackets turned pro, starting with Becker. I think it ruined the game to a large degree.

  • Yes, they did. Look on YouTube for "wimbledon speed 2003-2008".
