Good summary of Pareto, well worth delving into the original. PAreto is maligned as a proto-fascist; he was nothing of the sort. As Sidney Hook noted at the time, anyone seriously following Pareto's ideas would be in Mussolini's jails. Pareto is the great dis-abuser of illusions and social deceptions and such astringents are poorly accepted in a world full of both. Thanks for posting.
We tried to start with a discussion on Bernard d'Espagnat's claims that religion can contribute to science on the spengler board, and it devolved into mudslinging and a brawl over the distinction between Materialism and Materialist Philosophy...... xD .......

You will get your wish. I have just started on him
and the more I read the better I like it.
He has carefully delineated what his premises
are and what he isn't interested in as methodology. It didn't take him long to give Hegel
a black eye as he passed by. I have to find out
what happened to him, I cannot believe the Fascisti would allow him to run around loose.
Religionists have contributed to science but
it is not quite the same as "religion" helping
science in any meaningful way.
