If the toilet does not flush correctly and you have to hold the handle; you do not have to replace the flapper. The problem is the chain has to be shortened. By shortening the chain it allows the flapper to rise vertically with the standpipe. On some toilets there maybe rubber attached to the flapper that comes to the handle;if your toilet has one this instead of a chain;it is just a matter of pulling a little more rubber through the eye of the handle. On my toilet theres a little handle buy the floor. You twist it to full blast then flush the toilet. BAM! Magic.
