Although people used to think that Havah Nagila is an Israeli melody, it is actually a Chabad melody which became very Israeli as well.

the genre "chabad music" is music that was composed and influenced by the chabad-lubavitch leaders. the music is thought amoungst members of the chabad sect to elevate oneself on a spiritual level.
